TAD A1000 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED IN TAIPEI
Gyula attended the launch and the first system demonstration of the TAD A1000 Integrated Amplifier last weekend in Taipei at the TECA 2025 show.

The TAD A1000 Integrated was a prototype prepared for the Taiwan TECA 2025 HiFi Show, and the first time it had been played in public, it was partnered with the bestselling TAD ME1TX speakers for the show.
TAD A1000 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER JOINS THE EVOLUTION SERIES
Japanese HiFi brand Technical Audio Devices Laboratories (TAD) has introduced the TAD-A1000 Integrated Amplifier, the first integrated model within its Evolution Series. It brings together preamplifier and power-amplifier technologies previously found in separate TAD components. The amplifier will be available in silver (TAD-A1000-S) and black (TAD-A1000-K) on a built-to-order basis, with initial availability scheduled for December 2025.
The TAD-A1000 uses a bridge-tied load configuration in which each channel operates as two balanced amplifier blocks. Transformer coils, rectifying, smoothing and stabilising stages are assigned separately to each channel. The internal layout mirrors left and right sides, and wiring lengths are matched. Separate grounding points are used for the preamplifier and power-amplifier sections.
POWER SUPPLY STRUCTURE AND MATERIAL CHOICES
A high-capacity toroidal transformer works with a linear regulator, with its internal coils connected directly to the power supply circuit to reduce contact points. Copper components with non-magnetic coatings are used throughout the power supply section. The transformer core employs a circular cross-section designed to reduce flux leakage and vibration. This supply feeds the preamplifier, power amplifier and control circuits.
PREAMPLIFIER DESIGN
The preamplifier stage includes a single-stage current-feedback circuit originally developed for the Reference Series. Device matching is carried out on FET components to maintain complementary operation on the positive and negative signal sides.
MECHANICAL LAYOUT AND VOLUME CONTROL
The volume control uses TAD’s electronic resistance-ladder system and a centrally mounted knob supported by ball bearings. Its placement reflects the symmetrical internal layout.
TAD A1000 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER CHASSIS AND VIBRATION MANAGEMENT
The internal structure is divided into four chambers separating the preamplifier, power amplifier, transformer and control circuit. The power supply section receives additional mechanical and electrical shielding. The chassis rests on three feet with inverted spikes designed to reduce vibration transfer. Large speaker terminals similar to those used in the Reference Series are fitted to the rear panel.
The TAD-A1000 incorporates several proprietary or custom-specified parts. These include TAD’s resistance-ladder volume control, non-magnetic capacitors and resistors, gold-plated OFC wiring without nickel substrate, low-distortion film capacitors for analogue stages, non-magnetic chip resistors, and four 33,000 μF smoothing capacitors in the power-amplifier section.
SPECIFICATIONS AND INPUT OPTIONS
Rated output is 250 W into 4 Ω at 1 kHz, with distortion below 0.05% at 125 W. Signal-to-noise ratio is specified at 100 dB or higher. Frequency response is listed as 10 Hz to 50 kHz (–3 dB). Inputs include four balanced and two unbalanced connections. Power consumption is 130 W, with standby power of 0.5 W or less. Dimensions are 440 × 200 × 553 mm, and weight is 29 kg.
