Japanese HiFi brand STAX has introduced the STAX SR-007S, the latest update to its acclaimed electrostatic earspeaker line. The SR-007S builds on the legacy of the SR-007 and SR-007A, maintaining the iconic look while incorporating substantial engineering improvements.

STAX SR-007S FEATURES ADVANCED DIAPHRAGMS AND FIXED ELECTRODES

At the core of the STAX SR-007S Electrostatic Earspeaker are newly designed diaphragms and precision-refined fixed electrodes. The company has implemented a more advanced etching process that reduces the vent hole diameter by 20% compared to earlier models. These updates are designed to enhance sound clarity and accuracy across the frequency range, while retaining the deep, resonant character the 007 series is known for.

ANTI RESONANCE STRUCTURE

The STAX SR-007S Electrostatic Earspeaker adopts an Anti Resonance Structure (ARS) arc hinge based on the flagship SR-X9000 model. A seamless stainless steel arc contributes to improved rigidity and reduced vibration. The new hinge design allows better movement and an adaptive fit, while maintaining the STAX signature snug fit without the need for manual adjustment. A rubber interface on the head pad further improves comfort.

NEW SHEEPSKIN EARPADS FOR IMPROVED COMFORT AND ACOUSTICS

A key upgrade on the SR-007S is the introduction of redesigned genuine sheepskin earpads. These rotate to better suit different head shapes, offering enhanced comfort for extended listening sessions. Acoustically, the material and internal structure work to reduce reflections and improve absorption, expanding the perceived soundstage and refining the spatial presentation.

STAX SR-007S INTRODUCES DETACHABLE CABLE SYSTEM

The STAX SR-007S Electrostatic Earspeaker now includes a detachable cable system, aligning it with the rest of STAX’s current earspeaker lineup. The included 2.5-metre OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper) parallel 6-strand wide cable ensures low-capacitance and high signal purity. The modular design also makes maintenance easier and future upgrades more accessible for owners.
