STACK AUDIO AUVA SW SUBWOOFER ISOLATOR LAUNCHED TO TARGET LOW-FREQUENCY VIBRATION CONTROL

Stack Audio AUVA SW Subwoofer Isolator hifi news

British HiFi brand Stack Audio has introduced the Stack Audio AUVA SW Subwoofer Isolator, a purpose-designed isolation system aimed at controlling the substantial low-frequency energy generated by subwoofers.

The isolator is intended to prevent vibration from transferring into floors and equipment, helping maintain bass precision and overall system clarity.

STACK AUDIO AUVA SW SUBWOOFER ISOLATOR

The Stack Audio AUVA SW Subwoofer Isolator uses a hybrid mechanical design to limit structural vibration. Stack Audio notes that low-frequency energy from subwoofers can blur detail and reduce cohesion if it travels through floors and furniture; the AUVA SW is engineered to reduce that transfer at the source.

Each isolator incorporates an AUVA particle impact damping chamber inside an aluminium pod. The chamber contains a tuned mass of particles designed to absorb and disperse vibration as heat, addressing both direct and reflected energy from the subwoofer cabinet.

CSA INSERTS TUNED FOR SUBWOOFER PROFILES

Attached to the AUVA pod is a Custom Silicone Absorber (CSA) insert with eight ‘prongs’ specifically tuned for the energy characteristics of subwoofers. Six CSA weight ratings allow users to match the isolators to subwoofers ranging from 1kg to 56kg per set of four.

The AUVA SW uses a rigid aluminium housing to control the CSA’s movement, preventing buckling and guiding compliance for consistent low-frequency isolation. This enables higher compliance without compromising stability—a key requirement for subwoofer applications.

Stack Audio says that the AUVA SW underwent advanced Finite Element Analysis and twenty-nine design iterations. Material density, chamber geometry and mechanical behaviour were refined through modelling and listening tests to optimise energy dissipation and audible realism.

DIFFERENT APPROACH COMPARED WITH FULL-RANGE SPEAKER ISOLATION

Unlike the company’s AUVA loudspeaker isolators, designed to keep speakers rigid, the AUVA SW uses tuned compliance to address omnidirectional, long-wavelength sub-bass energy. This aims to decouple the subwoofer from floors while maintaining stability and control.

The AUVA SW can be placed directly beneath subwoofer cabinets, requiring no modification. Optional silicone/metal pads offer height adjustment, and adapters are available for threaded mounting where compatible.

STACK AUDIO AUVA SW SUBWOOFER ISOLATOR SPECIFICATIONS AND PRICING

Each AUVA SW isolator measures 50mm in diameter and 35.4mm in height, with a weight of 120g. Six CSA ratings cover subwoofers from 1kg to 56kg (per set of four). Pricing is £270 ex. VAT for a set of four.

HiFi PiG Says: A great addition to the Stack Audio AUVA range of isolators.
