RUARK MR1 MK3 BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS MAKE UK DEBUT AT NORTH WEST AUDIO SHOW 2025
Ruark will be unveiling its new MR1 Mk3 Bluetooth Speakers for the first time in the UK at North West Audio Show 2025.
The latest iteration of the popular desktop speaker system builds on the success of the previous MR1 models with substantial internal upgrades, all while retaining the elegant exterior styling the range is known for.
UPGRADED DESIGN AND AUDIO PERFORMANCE IN RUARK MR1 MK3 BLUETOOTH SPEAKERS
Though the MR1 Mk3 maintains a similar appearance to its predecessors, Ruark has redesigned nearly every element to enhance sound quality and flexibility. Key updates include improved USB audio and Bluetooth functionality, enabling seamless integration with music streaming services, televisions, and high-resolution audio sources.
The handcrafted enclosures now feature bevelled front edges and Slate Grey fabric grilles, while slightly expanded cabinet dimensions accommodate upgraded NS+ bass/mid drivers. The MR1 Mk3 also benefits from an adapted Class D amplifier – first developed for Ruark’s R410 – offering a more powerful and controlled output. The result is a desktop speaker with a sound that punches well above its compact form factor.
SABRE-R BOOKSHELF SPEAKERS MARK RUARK’S RETURN TO PASSIVE DESIGNS
Also on demonstration at Cranage 2025 is Ruark’s Sabre-R bookshelf speaker, launched in 2024. This two-way passive design marks the brand’s return to traditional HiFi loudspeaker production after focusing on compact systems for nearly 20 years.
The Sabre-R draws inspiration from Ruark’s original 1986 Sabre model, reimagined with modern materials and acoustic engineering. It features a 15cm treated natural fibre woofer paired with a 26mm silk dome tweeter for a balanced and detailed presentation. The cabinet, available in Fused Walnut or Satin Charcoal, is handcrafted and visually refined to suit both traditional and modern living spaces.
R610 STREAMING AMPLIFIER COMPLETES THE NEW RUARK SYSTEM
Completing the setup is the Ruark R610 streaming amplifier, designed to complement the Sabre-R speakers both aesthetically and sonically. The R610 delivers 75 watts per channel via a stereo Class D amplifier and includes audiophile-grade digital-to-analogue converters capable of handling up to 32-bit/384kHz files.
With built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the R610 supports Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, and Google Cast. Its intuitive operation is aided by Ruark’s RotoDial control interface and a clear colour display, making it ideal for users seeking a high-quality yet approachable streaming solution.
It also has a very cool remote control!
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
All three new models are available now: the MR1 Mk3 Bluetooth Speakers are priced at £399, the Sabre-R speakers at £699 per pair, and the R610 streaming amplifier at £1,200.
