REGA AYA LOUDSPEAKERS WITH MONEY-SAVING CONSTRUCTION

After a decade of development, Rega has launched the new 2.5 way Rega AYA Loudspeakers, designed by a team headed up by Rega founder Roy Gandy.

Using Rega designed, handmade drivers, coupled with their ZRR high frequency tweeter and a new crossover, the sculptured cabinets and stand create a floating effect which adds to the unique appearance.

GRC CABINETS

Housed in a UK manufactured cabinet moulded from GRC, (glass reinforced cement) the glass fibres that make up the construction reduce the weight whilst increasing the structural integrity of this 2.5 way band pass design. The steel grey finished speakers weigh 14.1Kg each.

The process of moulding the AYA loudspeaker cabinets was developed alongside a UK-based company who are best known for bespoke concrete furniture and installations.

Rega says that this technique creates the perfect loudspeaker enclosure that enhances performance whilst offering “exceptional value for money”. They told us: “If Rega was to continue with our customer promise to deliver exceptional performance and value for money, the ever-increasing cost of real wood veneered MDF cabinets meant we had no choice but to investigate other options, and this is the result”.

OPTIONAL GRILLES

As part of Rega’s commitment to their green push, magnetic grilles will be supplied as an optional extra for £80.

Rega says: “With so many customers not using grilles we are doing all we can not to waste material and keep selling prices as low as possible for those who do not require them”.
