QUAD PLATINA INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER LAUNCHES AS NEW FLAGSHIP MODEL
British audio manufacturer QUAD has unveiled its new flagship integrated amplifier, the QUAD Platina Integrated, forming the centrepiece of the brand’s new Platina Series.
Five years in development, the range marks the next chapter in QUAD’s long history.
A NEW ERA FOR QUAD
At the core of the new series, the QUAD Platina Integrated amplifier has been designed from the ground up, with every circuit stage reimagined. It launches alongside the Platina Stream network player, while a CD transport will join the line-up in 2026.

QUAD PLATINA INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER
The amplifier delivers 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts into 4 ohms through a dual-mono Class AB design. A custom 630VA toroidal transformer and bespoke capacitors developed with Wurth Elektronik ensure strong current delivery and low noise. The power supply features 44,000uF per channel for stability and headroom, providing control over even the most demanding loudspeakers.
Compact surface-mount circuitry keeps the signal path short and clean, reducing noise and interference. A microprocessor-controlled analogue volume system maintains a fully balanced signal path for precise, low-distortion performance, consistent with QUAD’s engineering heritage.
CONNECTIVITY AND CONTROL
Connectivity options are extensive. Digital inputs include USB-C, HDMI ARC, and four S/PDIF connections (two optical, two coaxial). Analogue inputs comprise a balanced XLR and three RCA pairs, one serving a newly designed MM/MC phono stage. Outputs include balanced and unbalanced pre-outs plus a full-size headphone socket.
The HDMI ARC function enables integration with a television, allowing the amp to power on and adjust volume via the TV remote, adding convenience for those combining stereo and AV systems.

ADVANCED DIGITAL STAGE
The Platina Integrated employs an ESS ES9038PRO DAC operating in fully balanced mode to minimise noise. Dual master clocks handle both 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates to reduce jitter. High-resolution support extends to PCM 32-bit/768kHz and DSD512. Users can fine-tune playback with selectable digital filters, upsampling options, and Roon Tested certification for seamless network streaming.

VINYL AND HEADPHONE PERFORMANCE
A newly developed JFET-based phono stage supports MM and MC cartridges, with selectable gain of 46dB, 52dB or 60dB. Low-noise circuitry and accurate RIAA equalisation preserve detail and dynamic range. The dedicated headphone amplifier uses a current-feedback design, providing wider bandwidth and faster transient response than typical integrated amp headphone outputs.

QUAD PLATINA INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER DESIGN AND INTERFACE
The QUAD Platina Integrated combines classic QUAD styling with modern usability. Its steel chassis and aluminium front panel enhance durability and isolation. A 4.3-inch full-colour IPS display gives access to settings, upsampling modes, gain adjustment and input configuration. The single rotary control doubles as both volume and navigation tool, and the screen offers multiple display options including VU-style meters and input data.

QUAD PLATINA INTEGRATED PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The QUAD Platina Integrated amplifier will be available from November 2025 in silver or black finishes, at an RRP of £3,499. The accompanying Platina Stream network player launches simultaneously, with the matching CD transport following in early 2026.
HiFi PiG Says: QUAD fans the world over will be very pleased to see this new QUAD Platina range.
