Pro-Ject Audio Systems has introduced the Pro-Ject Uni Box S3, a compact integrated amplifier that blends its analogue design heritage with up-to-date streaming features powered by WiiM OS.

Designed and built in Europe, the new model supports a wide range of sources while maintaining the analogue signal path for vinyl and other line-level devices.

PRO-JECT UNI BOX S3 MAINTAINS ANALOGUE SIGNAL PATH

Unlike many streaming amplifiers that convert all signals to digital, the Pro-Ject Uni Box S3 preserves analogue input sources in their native format. This design choice allows turntables, CD players, and similar devices to retain their sonic character. The amplifier is based on the dual-mono architecture found in Pro-Ject’s MaiA S3 and offers 40 watts per channel into 4 ohms.

Streaming functionality is delivered via WiiM OS, offering native support for Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, TuneIn internet radio, and more. A Cirrus Logic DAC enables high-resolution playback up to 24-bit/192kHz, catering to digital music enthusiasts.

PRO-JECT HOME APP ENABLES MULTI-ROOM CONTROL

Control of the Uni Box S3 is handled through the new Pro-Ject Home app, which simplifies setup and supports future multi-room configurations. Users can stream connected analogue sources, such as a turntable, to other compatible devices across the home—bridging the analogue and digital worlds.

The Pro-Ject Uni Box S3 features a comprehensive range of inputs and outputs. These include a moving magnet phono stage, three analogue inputs, three digital inputs (optical, coaxial), HDMI eARC for TV connection, and wireless support via Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi. Outputs comprise gold-plated speaker terminals, a 6.3mm headphone jack, and a variable RCA output suitable for subwoofers or additional zones.

PRO-JECT UNI BOX S3 DESIGNED FOR LONGEVITY AND SUSTAINABILITY

In addition to sound quality, sustainability has been considered in the Uni Box S3’s design. Its compact chassis uses less aluminium than standard amplifiers, making transport more efficient. Crucially, the streaming and amplifier sections are separate, meaning the amplifier remains usable even if the streaming module becomes outdated.
