The Pro-Ject Tube Box E is a compact valve phono stage and the Pro-Ject Tube Box S3 B is the latest in Pro-Ject’s premium valve-based phono stage line-up, with balanced technology.

PRO-JECT TUBE BOX E PHONO STAGE
Pro-Ject has introduced the new Tube Box E, a compact valve phono stage designed to bring the sonic qualities of tubes into its more affordable E-Line series. Inspired by the Tube Box S2, the Tube Box E uses simpler, cost-conscious components to reach a lower price point while retaining the character that has made the Tube Box range popular.
The Tube Box E employs a fully discrete, dual-mono design without operational amplifiers, supporting easier maintenance and a low-noise presentation. Its valves are user-replaceable, giving scope for personalisation or upgrades over time. Housed in a sturdy metal enclosure with an aluminium front panel, the unit also incorporates gold-plated RCA sockets and quality internal components, such as polystyrene capacitors and multiple power supplies.
Both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges are supported, with a choice of gain settings accessible from the front panel. Additional fine-tuning is possible through capacitance and impedance dip switches located underneath the unit. A subsonic filter can also be engaged directly from the front panel.
PRO-JECT TUBE BOX S3 B ADDS BALANCED TECHNOLOGY
The Tube Box S3 B is the latest in Pro-Ject’s premium valve-based phono stage line-up, introducing balanced technology at a more accessible level of the market. Featuring a fully symmetrical and discrete gain stage, it can maintain a balanced signal path when used with a balanced-ready turntable connected via its 5-Pin Mini XLR input.
The larger chassis of the Tube Box S3 B allows all loading and control options to be accessed from the front panel. Users can adjust gain from 40–65dB, select capacitance and impedance settings, and switch inputs or activate the subsonic filter with ease. Two turntables can be connected simultaneously, one balanced and one unbalanced, with the unit storing individual settings for each input.
The Tube Box S3 B is housed in an aluminium enclosure, available in either black or silver, offering strong resistance to interference. Like the Tube Box E, it comes with replaceable valves, enabling sound tailoring and long-term flexibility. With its premium construction and wide feature set, the Tube Box S3 B is positioned as a versatile choice for enthusiasts seeking a balanced phono stage within a compact form factor.
UK AVAILABILITY AND PRICING
Both new models are made in Europe and will be available in the UK from August. The Pro-Ject Tube Box E is priced at £240 and the Pro-Ject Tube Box S3 B at £529.
