PRO-JECT E1.2 TURNTABLE LAUNCHES AS ENTRY-LEVEL MODEL FOR ANALOGUE HiFi

Pro-Ject E1.2 Turntable hifi news

Pro-Ject Audio Systems has introduced the Pro-Ject E1.2 Turntable, a fully manual turntable aimed at listeners looking for a straightforward route into vinyl playback.

Built in Europe, the E1.2 avoids digital add-ons such as Bluetooth, USB output, or built-in phono preamps, instead focusing on core mechanical design and analogue performance.

PRO-JECT E1.2 TURNTABLE

The E1.2 features a new 730g die-cast aluminium main platter with an integrated TPE damping ring. The design replaces the ABS platter found on the original E1 model, offering improved rotational stability and reduced resonance. A glass-fibre-reinforced sub-platter—similar to that used in Pro-Ject’s Debut series—supports consistent speed and lowers vibration transfer.

PRO-JECT E1.2 TONEARM AND CARTRIDGE COMBINATION

An 8.6-inch aluminium tonearm with a gimbal bearing system is used on the E1.2, offering low-friction movement and basic mechanical stability. The tonearm is fitted with a carbon-reinforced headshell and comes pre-aligned with a Pick it MM E cartridge. This cartridge includes a miniature neodymium magnet and a conical diamond stylus, intended to offer low tracking distortion and balanced audio output.

CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS

The plinth is machined from rigid composite fibre with a non-hollow construction to reduce internal resonance. The turntable is available in three finishes—high-gloss black, satin white, and walnut—and comes with damping feet, a dust cover, and OFC phono cables with gold-plated RCA connectors.

DESIGNED FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH MODERN SYSTEMS

With its focus on basic playback functionality, the E1.2 is compatible with integrated amplifiers, active loudspeakers, and streaming amplifiers that include a phono input. It also pairs with Pro-Ject’s own external phono stage range, such as the Phono Box models, if needed.

LONG-TERM SERVICE SUPPORT FOR THE PRO-JECT E1.2

Pro-Ject states that spare parts for the E1.2 will be available for at least 25 years. The deck is also covered by a standard two-year warranty. Users can access a wide range of optional accessories for system upgrades over time.

PRO-JECT E1.2 TURNTABLE PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The Pro-Ject E1.2 is available in July 2025 with an RRP of £249 in the UK / €329 in Europe (including VAT). It is distributed in the UK by Henley Audio.
