Piega has added a new flagship model to its Premium Gen2 range with the introduction of the Piega Premium 801 floorstanding loudspeakers.

The model follows the earlier Premium 301 Gen2 and Premium 701 Gen2 and extends the series with a revised cabinet design, updated high-frequency technology and a new driver complement. The speakers are available in the UK through distributor Henley Audio.

PIEGA PREMIUM 801 LOUDSPEAKERS

The Piega Premium 801 is built using the same extruded aluminium profile found in the Coax 611. Formed under more than 5,000 tons of pressure, the enclosure is engineered to be rigid and low in resonance, with a slim, clean appearance. Internally, the structure incorporates bracing, a damping layer and a wooden reinforcement matrix. The midrange driver is isolated in its own sealed chamber, while four woofers operate within a bass reflex system.

RIBBON-HORN SYSTEM DEFINES THE PIEGA PREMIUM 801

The high-frequency section features Piega’s SSD RM 01-24 ribbon tweeter, previously introduced in the Premium 301 Gen2 and 701 Gen2 models. With a very low moving mass, it is designed for rapid transient response and detailed output. For the first time in the Premium range, this ribbon is combined with a horn attachment. The configuration increases efficiency, lowers the crossover point to approximately 2.7kHz and broadens presence across the upper frequencies.

MIDRANGE PERFORMANCE

The midrange driver is taken from the wider Premium Series but benefits from a revised crossover. Using Piega’s FSD (Full Symmetric Drive) system, the motor structure is arranged for symmetrical movement of the voice coil to support consistent, neutral reproduction. The sealed midrange chamber is designed to improve control over internal airflow.

PIEGA PREMIUM 801 WOOFERS

Low-frequency output comes from four FSD-based 140mm woofers. According to Piega, the arrangement provides increased power handling and around 6.5dB higher maximum output compared with the Premium 701 Gen2, contributing to the intended low-end authority of the three-way design.

PIEGA PREMIUM 801 LOUDSPEAKERS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Piega Premium 801 is a three-way floorstander with a stated frequency response of 32–50,000Hz (±2dB), sensitivity of 90dB and nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Recommended amplifier power is 50–250W. Dimensions are 1160 × 210 × 310mm with a 350mm base, and each speaker weighs 39.6kg. Finish options include silver anodised sandblasted aluminium, black anodised sandblasted aluminium and white lacquer aluminium.

PIEGA PREMIUM 801 AVAILABILITY AND PRICING

The Piega Premium 801 will begin shipping in December 2025 and is available in the UK through distributor Henley Audio. Pricing is listed as £9,200 (Silver) and £9,700 (Black or White).
