The Nu-Vista 600.2 builds on the foundation of its predecessor, the Nu-Vista 600, with significant enhancements derived from the development of the Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 800.2 which we reviewed here. Led by Chief of Design Simon Quarry, the upgraded model introduces dual-mono input and preamp circuitry, an improved dual-mono power supply, and a redesigned front panel featuring an impressive display.
At its heart are four 6S51N nuvistor tubes in a discrete Class A amplifier buffer, contributing to its smooth, transparent sound. The nuvistor stage, along with the preamp and input circuits, adopts a fully dual-mono layout with independent power supplies for each channel, ensuring precise channel separation and reduced noise.
POWERFUL PERFORMANCE AND FLEXIBILITY
Delivering 160 watts per channel into 8Ω, the Nu-Vista 600.2’s power amplifier is inspired by the iconic TITAN amplifier. Its “V4 engine” configuration uses four output transistors per channel, paired with dedicated high-current bulk supply capacitors.
CONNECTIONS AND USER EXPERIENCE
The amplifier features six stereo inputs, including two balanced XLR inputs, ensuring compatibility with various high-end sources. Additionally, it offers three stereo output options, including balanced XLR, all buffered independently to avoid interference. Other notable features include a laser-trimmed volume control for precision and an aluminium remote control for convenience.
Its solid chassis construction, made from extruded aluminium panels, provides protection against electromagnetic interference and mechanical vibrations, while the internal layout optimises signal isolation and cooling.
