MoFi Sourcepoint V10 Master Edition Loudspeaker hifi news

MoFi Electronics has expanded its SourcePoint loudspeaker range with the introduction of the new flagship MoFi Sourcepoint V10 Master Edition Loudspeaker

Designed by renowned loudspeaker engineer Andrew Jones, the V10 is positioned as the flagship of the SourcePoint family, building on the design principles established with the popular SourcePoint 10.

MOFI SOURCEPOINT V10 MASTER EDITION LOUDSPEAKER

The MoFi SourcePoint V10 Master Edition builds upon the core design of the two-way SourcePoint 10, developing it into a full three-way floorstanding loudspeaker. Jones has added twin 10-inch woofers and dual rear-firing 10-inch passive radiators to create a more extended low-frequency performance while retaining the clarity and coherence associated with the original model.

As its name suggests, the “V10” configuration refers to the use of five 10-inch elements. This design allows the custom 10-inch concentric driver, combining midrange and high frequencies,to operate within an optimised bandwidth, while the additional woofers handle bass duties. The result is intended to provide detailed and balanced performance across a wide frequency range, quoted as 27 Hz to 30 kHz.

ENGINEERING AND CROSSOVER ADJUSTABILITY

At the heart of the SourcePoint V10 Master Edition is a newly developed tuneable crossover network. This system enables users to adjust the high-frequency response to suit their room acoustics or listening preferences. A rear-mounted three-position switch allows fine control of treble level and ensures precise phase alignment between drivers for seamless integration across the audio spectrum.

CABINET DESIGN AND ACOUSTIC CONTROL

The cabinet construction follows MoFi’s established SourcePoint aesthetic, featuring a 1-inch-thick, closed design with a distinctive multi-faceted baffle. The angled surfaces around each driver are designed to reduce edge diffraction and unwanted reflections. Internally, the V10 uses separate chambers for each woofer and passive radiator to limit cabinet resonance and maintain controlled bass performance.

BUILD QUALITY AND FINISH OPTIONS

Each MoFi Electronics SourcePoint V10 Master Edition loudspeaker is crafted with attention to finish and durability. The cabinets are available in real-wood Walnut or Black Ash veneers, both protected by a satin clear coat that enhances the wood’s texture while offering resistance to everyday wear. Each pair is book-matched for a consistent grain pattern and comes with magnetic grilles available in black or grey.
