Meze Rai Solo IEM Debuts At Bristol

Following on from Meze’s 5 driver Rai Penta IEM, Meze have now released the aptly named single driver Rai Solo IEM. The Rai Solo introduces some new and innovative design features, including Unified Pistonic Motion Technology (UPM).

In a traditional electrodynamic driver the voice coil lead wires are glued to the back side of the thin membrane. This is a major factor in producing unbalanced vibrations. The new UPM driver eliminates this inconvenience by using a totally different approach: the membrane itself is electrically conductive and, therefore, no wires are attached to the diaphragm.

Symmetric Pistonic Motion

The result is a symmetric pistonic motion through its entire movement, without disturbance from the imbalance created by wires. This results in low total harmonic distortion, clear mid-range and outstanding reproduction of low frequencies. The Rai Solo, has a fun-neutral but well refined and controlled sound signature.

Visit Meze in room 324 to not only hear this entry-level IEM but also to see the beautifully crafted stainless steel construction.
