MEZE AUDIO ASTRU SINGLE DYNAMIC DRIVER IEM ANNOUNCED
Meze Audio has announced the Meze Audio ASTRU, a new flagship in-ear monitor (IEM) built around a single dynamic driver design.
The company says the model is aimed at listeners seeking high-end portable sound without the complexity or cost often associated with multi-driver IEM designs.
The Meze Audio ASTRU is scheduled for its first public showing at the CanJam New York event on 7th – 8th March, with the official market launch set for 20th March 2026.
MEZE AUDIO ASTRU SINGLE DYNAMIC DRIVER TECHNOLOGY
At the centre of the Meze Audio ASTRU is a newly developed 10 mm dynamic driver. The driver uses a multilayer composite diaphragm designed to balance speed, control, and tonal weight.
The diaphragm dome incorporates more than 80 ultra-thin layers of gold, applied through a 48-hour physical vacuum DC magnetron sputtering process. This gold layer is bonded to titanium and mounted on a PEEK base structure. According to the manufacturer, the design aims to deliver fast transient response, extended treble, and the fuller tonal character often associated with dynamic drivers.
TITANIUM HOUSING DESIGN
The housing of the Meze Audio ASTRU has been designed with both durability and comfort in mind. Each earpiece shell is CNC-machined from a single block of pure titanium and then finished using a multi-stage electroplating process to produce a satin surface.
The shell geometry has been refined to improve long-term comfort during extended listening sessions. Meze Audio states that each matched pair of shells requires up to seven days of precision machining and finishing.
ACCESSORIES AND CABLE
The Meze Audio ASTRU is supplied as a complete portable listening package. Included in the box is a premium balanced cable featuring CNC-anodised aluminium hardware and a gold-plated 4.4 mm balanced termination.
Also included are a 4.4 mm to 3.5 mm adapter, five sizes of ear tips ranging from XS to XL, and two storage options: a protective pouch and a soft PU leather envelope. These accessories are intended to support both portable listening and use in more dedicated HiFi setups.
MEZE AUDIO ASTRU TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The Meze Audio ASTRU features a 10 mm dynamic driver with a frequency response of 5 Hz to 35 kHz. The IEM has an impedance of 32 Ω and sensitivity rated at 111 dB SPL/mW at 1 kHz.
The earphones use a 2-pin connector system and are specified with total harmonic distortion below 0.1% at 1 kHz. Each pair weighs approximately 13.4 grams.
