FLAGSHIP LUMIN X2 NETWORK MUSIC PLAYER LAUNCHES WITH NEW DISCRETE DAC

LUMIN has introduced the LUMIN X2 Network Music Player as its new flagship streamer, built around a fully custom discrete DAC developed in-house.
The design represents the outcome of several years of research and development, with the entire architecture arranged to support the new DAC at its core.
CUSTOM DUAL LUMIN DISCRETE DAC ARCHITECTURE
At the centre of the LUMIN X2 is a new dual mono, fully discrete DAC system. The DAC operates under the control of dual ultra-high-speed FPGAs, handling full 32-bit operations. Both DSD and PCM formats are supported, including native DSD512 (22.6MHz) and PCM playback up to 32-bit / 768kHz. The company says that every calculation and filter has been tailored specifically for the LUMIN X2 platform.
LUMIN X2 NETWORK MUSIC PLAYER
The latest LUMIN processing architecture is used in the X2, enabling native playback, upsampling, and other digital handling functions. PCM and DSD material can be upsampled to DSD256, while Lumin includes Leedh Processing for lossless volume control where required.

ANALOGUE STAGE AND CLOCKING IN THE LUMIN X2
The analogue-output stage includes an all-new buffer design and a dual mono, dual-stage power supply dedicated to the analogue circuitry. Clock distribution is handled by a femto-grade system with FPGA-based precision timing, intended to maintain signal accuracy throughout the conversion process.

CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS INCLUDING OPTICAL NETWORK SUPPORT
The LUMIN X2 offers a wide range of connectivity, including a USB digital audio output supporting native DSD512. An SFP socket is provided for optical network input, and the unit includes a built-in network switch. Standard Ethernet networking is also included.
