JDS LABS LAUNCHES ATOM AMP 2 AND ATOM DAC 2

American HiFi brand JDS Labs, has dropped the Atom Amp 2 and Atom DAC 2, marking an evolution in their Atom product line.

The new JDS Labs Atom Amp 2 and Atom DAC 2 feature enhanced power, DC protection, and design.

JDS LABS ATOM AMP 2

The JDS Labs Atom Amp 2 is built in an all-metal chassis, for durability and aesthetic appeal. It includes a more user-friendly knob and has both 4.4mm and 6.35mm SE outputs. Amp 2 comes with DC protection and stereo octo-buffers, delivering 2.5 times the power of the Atom Amp+ at 2.6 watts.

Atom Amp 2 has a higher SINAD (Signal + Noise + Distortion / Noise + Distortion) and lower noise floor, which are byproducts of the octo-buffer output stage. The amp maintains its RF rejection level and low output impedance, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of headphones.

Responding to customer feedback and market trends, JDS Labs has focused on delivering more power. Atom Amp 2 addresses the growing demand for high-power output, suitable for extreme volumes and inefficient headphones.

HEADPHONE PROTECTION

Atom Amp 2 includes a failsafe DC protection circuit, designed to protect headphones without accidental tripping during normal use.

JDS LABS ATOM DAC 2

Designed to complement Atom Amp 2, Atom DAC 2 features a matching metal chassis and is equipped with a USB Type C input. Its improved trans-impedance stage operates at cooler temperatures than the previous generation.

Atom DAC 2 mirrors the performance of the Atom DAC+, with refinements in its trans-impedance stage, integrated power switch, and a more secure light ring. The transition to a Type C USB input adds a modern touch to its functionality.
