IOTA AUDIO DESIGN SYSTEM DETAILS FOR NORTH WEST AUDIO SHOW 2025

Iota Audio Design are bringing some exciting new gear to the North West Audio Show 2025, read on for all the details.

The British HiFi brand, known for their turntables and vinyl products are bringing speakers and digital audio treats too.

IOTA JOT-QUANTUM TURNTABLE

At Cranage 2025, iota-audio-design will present a refined and distinctive line-up, led by the iota Jot-Quantum turntable. This model combines a modular die-cast chassis and a diamond-polished granite baseboard with the brand’s Quantum platter technology. Engineered for pitch and speed stability, the 2.46kg platter employs the MLM design principle—featuring multiple laminations of diverse materials, damping agents, and peripheral mass loading. The turntable is compatible with all iota tonearms and standard Rega geometry arms. It will be demonstrated with the Jasmine Audio “Turtle” MC cartridge and iota Satori II-r tonearm, powered by the iota XLR supply.

REVISED FOR 2025: IOTA PRIMA-R TURNTABLE WITH SATORI B-II TONEARM

Also making an appearance is the updated iota Prima-r turntable, showcasing notable refinements for 2025. These include a 25% heavier platter with enhanced peripheral mass and a dedicated Acetal/brass screw-down clamp. Height-adjustable feet offer improved isolation, while the MFP 0.5 mains filter supply is now standard. The Prima-r is paired with the iota Satori B-II unipivot tonearm and Goldring Elite MC cartridge.

IOTA TONEWOOD TURNTABLE

The iota Tonewood turntable takes a unique structural approach, using a T-shaped laminated spruce chassis faced with bonded carbon fibre. It includes height-adjustable feet with vibration control and is supplied with the MFP 0.5 power supply and iota SD record clamp. This turntable can accommodate tonearms up to 12 inches and is shown with the Jasmine Audio JS TA224 tonearm—customised with iota-authorised modifications—and the Jasmine Audio “Fire” MC cartridge.

AMPLIFICATION BY IOTA CELES, ERŐ 7’S, AND SI PHONO STAGE

The system will be fully powered by iota’s electronics, including the compact iota Celes line stage preamp, which features a minimal yet functional layout with three RCA inputs and manual volume control. The iota Erő 7’s mono power amps, rated at 70 watts and designed with toroidal transformers for high current delivery, will handle the main amplification duties. Phono signals will be processed by the iota Si phono stage, a single-box MM/MC unit that incorporates selectable ICs and internal shielding for enhanced performance and flexibility.

IOTA ESCAR SPEAKERS

Completing the system are the iota Escar speakers, compact full-range designs using a single 80mm drive unit in a distinctive spiral quarter-wave enclosure crafted from CNC-machined Beechwood. External frequency compensation is provided via a separate crossover housed in an aluminium enclosure beneath the speaker stand. These will be shown on iota’s dedicated Bosk speaker stands, which feature multi-laminated top plates and solid Beechwood legs designed to optimise speaker performance.

DIGITAL INTEGRATION WITH DUGOOD 1798 CD & USB WAV DRIVE

While the system is centred around analogue sources, iota will also showcase digital playback through the Dugood 1798 CD and USB WAV drive. This unit features a Sanyo DV-34 transport and Burr-Brown PCM1798 DAC, with support for standard CDs and WAV audio up to 24-bit/192kHz via USB. Both balanced and unbalanced outputs are available, and its modular op-amp layout supports easy user upgrades.
