GRADO LABS EXPANDS SIGNATURE LINE WITH THE SIGNATURE S750
Brooklyn-based headphone maker Grado Labs has introduced the Grado Signature S750, the third model in its Signature Line.
The Grado Signature S750 follows the Signature HP100 SE and S950, offering a fresh entry point into the series.
NEW S2 DRIVER DESIGN IN THE GRADO SIGNATURE S750
Central to the S750 is a completely new S2 50mm driver, built from the ground up. The driver combines a carbon fibre and paper composite diaphragm with a lightweight copper-plated aluminium voice coil. This design aims to deliver a natural sound signature with improved dynamics and detail.
The all-aluminium housing, hand-built in Brooklyn, keeps the weight to 460 grams, over 10% lighter than the HP100 SE, without compromising strength or durability.
GRADO SIGNATURE S750 INTRODUCES THE NEW B CUSHION
Making its debut with the S750, the new Grado B cushion has been designed for both comfort and acoustic refinement. It is also available separately and fits all current Grado wired headphones.
The B cushion shortens the distance between the ear and the driver, features a smaller internal opening for balance adjustment, and includes eight precision slits to enhance airflow and soundstage. Its flatter surface evenly distributes pressure, reducing fatigue during long listening sessions.
Grado COO Richard Grado explained that the B cushion “gives listeners another way to experience Grado headphones”, allowing for personal preference in sound signature.
UPDATED DETACHABLE CABLE SYSTEM ON THE GRADO SIGNATURE S750
The S750 continues Grado’s use of detachable cables, a feature introduced with the HP100 SE. It comes with a six-foot Signature Gold braided cable, finished with a 6.35mm single-ended plug. The new design is softer, lighter, and more flexible thanks to improved insulation.
Connections are made via a 4-pin balanced mini XLR, ensuring compatibility with future Grado cable options, including balanced 4-pin XLR and 4.4mm terminations in various lengths.
DESIGN AND COMFORT REFINEMENTS
The headband assembly mirrors that of the Signature HP100 SE and S950 but has been subtly refined. Slightly narrower than before, it retains 50% more padding than earlier Grado models for long-term comfort.
Aluminium alloy gimbals, stainless-steel height rods, and reinforced junction blocks contribute to durability. The limited 105-degree rotation range enhances stability while reducing wear over time.
HAND-BUILT IN BROOKLYN
As with all Grado headphones, each pair of Signature S750 is hand-built in the company’s Brooklyn workshop, reflecting the family-owned manufacturer’s long-standing emphasis on craftsmanship. Founded in 1953 by Joseph Grado, the company remains under family ownership, now led by CEO John Grado.
