FYNE AUDIO S-TRAX SUPERTWEETER INTRODUCED WITH A BROAD RANGE OF SPEAKER COMPATIBILITY
Scottish HiFi brand Fyne has announced the release of the new Fyne Audio S-Trax SuperTweeter, after teasing it at HiFi Shows throughout the year.
Designed to make the company’s patented SuperTrax omni-directional ultra-high-frequency (UHF) technology more widely accessible, and built in Glasgow, the Fyne Audio S-Trax SuperTweeter aims to offer an affordable route into extended frequency response while maintaining compatibility with a broad range of loudspeakers.

At the centre of the S-Trax is an upward-facing 25mm magnesium dome tweeter powered by a neodymium magnet system. Above it sits a Tractrix profile diffuser, radiating energy evenly into the room in a 360-degree pattern. This design contrasts with the narrower output of a forward-firing tweeter, with the intention of better reflecting how natural instruments disperse sound.
The S-Trax extends frequency response beyond 50kHz (-6dB in-room), aiming to enhance spaciousness, transient detail, and texture without shifting the loudspeaker’s tonal balance. By aligning carefully with a speaker’s tweeter or Fyne’s IsoFlare driver, the design also reduces high-frequency phase errors, which can improve coherence and timbre across the audio band.
COMPATIBILITY AND SYSTEM INTEGRATION
To ensure broad compatibility, Fyne Audio has incorporated a third-order high-pass crossover set at 16kHz. The S-Trax operates strictly in the super-high-frequency range and includes a ±4.5dB gain adjustment, allowing users to match output to their existing loudspeakers. The unit is also fitted with Fyne’s anti-RFI grounding terminal, intended to reduce interference from surrounding electronics.

The S-Trax measures 79 × 82 × 149mm and weighs around 1kg, with a compact satin black cabinet designed to sit on top of most loudspeakers. It is specified for amplifier power handling up to 300W RMS, making it suitable for systems ranging from small standmounts to larger floorstanding speakers. The crossover components benefit from Fyne’s in-house Deep Cryogenic Treatment, applied to minimise micro-distortions and maintain signal purity.
Fyne recommends positioning the S-Trax to align with a loudspeaker’s acoustic centre for optimum results. This placement is intended to restore high-frequency harmonics often lost in playback, contributing to greater accuracy in instrument placement and enhanced realism in music reproduction.
