Fyne Audio has introduced the new Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary, a limited-edition loudspeaker created to mark ten years since the original F1-10 became the first model to carry the Fyne Audio name…with some very interesting new features!

Limited to 30 individually numbered pairs worldwide, the new Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary Loudspeaker combines an extensively re-engineered IsoFlare driver, integrated SuperTrax technology and a hand-built crossover. The loudspeakers are manufactured at Fyne Audio’s Glasgow facility.

FYNE AUDIO F1-10 ANNIVERSARY LOUDSPEAKERS

HiFi PiG heard the Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary at Fyne Audio’s Glasgow headquarters this week during our factory visit. We will have more to report on the loudspeaker, its design and our listening experience in our forthcoming Fyne Audio factory visit report.

FYNE AUDIO F1-10 ANNIVERSARY ISOFLARE DRIVER AND GLASS DIAPHRAGM

At the centre of the F1-10 Anniversary is a 250 mm IsoFlare point-source driver incorporating a new 75 mm aluminosilicate glass compression diaphragm. The multi-fibre bass/midrange cone uses FyneFlute surround technology, while the high-frequency driver uses an ultra-thin chemically strengthened glass diaphragm.

The large 75 mm compression driver operates down to a 750 Hz crossover point. A new computer-optimised annular waveguide has also been developed for the glass diaphragm, with the aim of maintaining the point-source characteristics of the IsoFlare driver and controlling its dispersion.

SUPERTAX INTEGRATED INTO THE F1-10 ANNIVERSARY

The F1-10 Anniversary is the first Fyne Audio loudspeaker to incorporate SuperTrax as an integral part of its cabinet. The 25 mm Thin Ply Carbon Diaphragm super tweeter is mounted horizontally in the top panel and fires upwards towards a machined Tractrix-profile diffuser.

The arrangement produces a 360-degree wavefront and extends the system’s response beyond 60 kHz. SuperTrax is time-aligned with the IsoFlare driver and includes a ±3 dB adjustment for its energy between 16 kHz and 60 kHz.

FYNE AUDIO F1-10 ANNIVERSARY CROSSOVER

A new crossover has been developed specifically for the F1-10 Anniversary. It uses low-loss laminated-core inductors, non-inductive thick-film resistors and ClarityCap PUR-grade polypropylene capacitors. Rather than being mounted on conventional printed circuit boards, the crossover is hard-wired onto rigid fibreboard panels.

Each crossover undergoes Fyne Audio’s Deep Cryogenic Treatment process. The signal path also includes Neotech PC-OCC internal wiring and gold-plated WBT Nextgen bi-wire terminals. A fifth grounding terminal is provided, while high-frequency and presence controls offer ±3 dB adjustment.

BASS SYSTEM AND CABINET DESIGN

The F1-10 Anniversary uses Fyne Audio’s BassTrax Tractrix Diffuser System, incorporated into a twin-layer aluminium plinth. The system converts the downward-firing port output into a spherical 360-degree wavefront. An internal twin-cavity tuning system is also used to address internal standing waves and cone behaviour around the port tuning frequency.

The curved cabinet follows the design of the original F1-10 and is constructed from high-density birch plywood with extensive internal bracing. The IsoFlare assembly is mechanically coupled to the internal bracing, while the curved enclosure and twin-cavity architecture are designed to reduce unwanted cabinet energy.

FYNE AUDIO F1-10 ANNIVERSARY FINISH

Each cabinet is finished in American walnut veneer with contrasting high-gloss burr walnut, solid walnut trim and champagne gold accents and finishing parts. A UV-resistant piano gloss lacquer is used over the natural veneers. Every pair is individually built, assembled, finished and tested at Fyne Audio’s Glasgow manufacturing facility, with 100 hours of run-in applied before delivery.

Each numbered pair is supplied with machined floor protection cups, an adjustment tool, Neotech jumper leads, an individually signed anniversary booklet and certificates of approval. The package also includes limited-edition etched Glencairn whisky glasses and an optional black driver trim kit.

The Fyne Audio F1-10 Anniversary is priced at £36,999.99 / $49,999.99 / €42,999.99 per pair. Production is limited to 30 individually numbered pairs worldwide, with the loudspeakers available to order now through authorised Fyne Audio retailers and distributors.

HiFi PiG says: This is much more than a cosmetic update to the original F1-10, with a newly developed aluminosilicate glass high-frequency diaphragm replacing the original metal dome, a re-engineered IsoFlare driver, and SuperTrax technology integrated directly into the cabinet for the first time. A redesigned crossover and refinements to the existing bass system complete the changes.
