Focal has introduced the Focal Diva Mezza Utopia, a new wireless loudspeaker that advances its Diva Utopia line.
Combining high-end audio performance with the convenience of an active, wireless design, the Diva Mezza Utopia is positioned as a fully integrated solution for those seeking exceptional sound without the complication of a traditional system.
FOCAL DIVA MEZZA UTOPIA
Compared to its predecessor, the Focal Diva Utopia, which launched last year, the Focal Diva Mezza Utopia features a larger cabinet and significantly upgraded driver complement. Each speaker includes four 8-inch ‘W’ cone woofers in a push-push configuration, offering deep, punchy bass with precision. These are paired with a midrange ‘W’ cone driver and Focal’s signature ‘M’-shaped Beryllium tweeter, delivering a wide and articulate soundstage suited for rooms up to 100m².
NAIM AUDIO INTEGRATION FOR DIVA MEZZA UTOPIA
At the heart of the Diva Mezza Utopia is a completely re-engineered electronics package from Naim Audio. Each speaker includes built-in amplification rated at 500 watts, powered by a dual-stage power supply. This setup ensures accurate power delivery and efficient thermal management via a sculpted rear-mounted heat sink.
WIRELESS HIGH-RESOLUTION AUDIO WITH UWB TECHNOLOGY
Focal introduces Ultra Wideband (UWB) audio transmission in the Diva Mezza Utopia, enabling uncompressed 96kHz/24-bit wireless playback. A wired connection is also supported for up to 192kHz/24-bit resolution. The system includes Intelligent Dynamics Clocking (IDC) for precise channel synchronisation, maintaining clarity and timing accuracy in stereo imaging.
FOCAL DIVA MEZZA UTOPIA ADAPTIVE ROOM TUNING
Using Focal’s proprietary ADAPT (Adaptive Acoustic Personal Tuning) system, users can fine-tune the speaker’s response to suit their listening room. This calibration feature, accessed through the Focal & Naim app, adjusts the system based on both the room acoustics and individual preferences.
CONNECTIVITY AND CONTROL OPTIONS
The Diva Mezza Utopia supports a wide range of streaming options through the Pulse Platform. Wireless compatibility includes AirPlay 2, Bluetooth, Google Cast, and UPnP, with support for streaming services like TIDAL, Qobuz Connect, Spotify Connect, and QQ Music. Multiroom audio is also available, and integration with smart home platforms such as Control4, Crestron, Savant, and RTI ensures flexible control. Users can manage playback via the dedicated app, remote control, or voice assistants including Google Assistant and Siri.
SCULPTURAL DESIGN AND MATERIAL CHOICE
True to Focal’s design philosophy, the Diva Mezza Utopia pairs audio performance with striking aesthetics. The loudspeaker is constructed from a high-density polymer using a low-pressure moulding process, with floating side panels in eco-conscious felt now offered in a new ivory tone. A brushed aluminium band surrounds the tweeter, which is finished with a red and black grille — a distinctive nod to the Utopia line’s heritage.
