Esoteric T-01 Magnedrive Turntable
ESOTERIC T-01 MAGNEDRIVE TURNTABLE LAUNCHES WITH CONTACTLESS DRIVE SYSTEM
Japanese HiFi brand Esoteric has announced the new Esoteric T-01 Magnedrive Turntable, a new analogue turntable incorporating the company’s patented “Esoteric MagneDrive” contactless drive system.
The Esoteric T-01 Magnedrive Turntable is derived from technology first introduced in the Grandioso T1 and is scheduled for international shipment at the end of September 2026.

ESOTERIC T-01 MAGNEDRIVE DRIVE SYSTEM
The MagneDrive system uses magnetic induction rather than a physical connection between the motor and platter. A rotating magnetic driver interacts with an induction wheel surrounding the lower edge of the non-magnetic aluminium platter, causing the platter to rotate without direct mechanical contact.
According to Esoteric, this arrangement is intended to isolate the platter from motor vibration and rumble. The company says the system also provides high torque, pitch stability and consistent platter rotation, while removing the need for a replacement drive belt.

ESOTERIC T-01 MAGNE-FLOAT PLATTER
The T-01 uses Esoteric’s Magne-Float platter technology, which reduces the effective mass of the 13kg platter to approximately 4kg. The company says this reduces spindle bearing friction. An inverted bearing system is also used to support platter rotation.
The turntable offers 33 1/3 and 45rpm operation, with speed adjustment of ±12% in 0.1% increments. Wow and flutter is specified at 0.06% or less (W.R.M.S.).

ESOTERIC T-01 CHASSIS AND MOTOR
The MagneDrive motor is integrated into the main chassis, with Esoteric stating that this makes installation easier. The motor is housed using a “Vibration Absorber Case” construction, while the separate compact power supply is intended to improve operational efficiency and isolation.
The T-01 also incorporates a “Master Sound Discrete Clock” motor driver for platter rotation accuracy. A BNC clock input allows compatibility with a 10MHz external clock, including Esoteric’s G-01XD and G-05 Master Clock models.
The chassis uses a triple-layer construction combining aluminium and MDF, with the mid-chassis finished in high-gloss piano lacquer. Specialised isolation feet incorporate a spike, spike pad and damper arrangement, designed to address vibration and feedback.
The T-01 is supplied with Esoteric’s TA-9S tonearm, while the specifications list the TA-9D tonearm format. Up to two tonearms can be fitted, although an additional arm base kit is required for a second arm. Custom arm base kits can be ordered to accommodate different tonearms.

ESOTERIC T-01 TURNTABLE SPECIFICATIONS
The T-01 measures 539 x 206 x 432mm including its tonearm and weighs 35kg, comprising a 22kg base unit, 13kg platter and 7kg power supply. The armless version measures 517 x 185 x 432mm.
The separate power supply measures 146 x 128 x 353mm. Power consumption is specified at 8W, falling to 0.3W in standby. The turntable accepts 10MHz clock input via BNC, with an input impedance of 50 ohms.
ESOTERIC T-01 PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Esoteric T-01 is due to ship internationally at the end of September 2026. UK pricing is £41,999, with EU pricing at €48,000 and US pricing at $50,000. The T-01AL version, supplied without a tonearm, is priced at £38,999 in the UK, €45,000 in the EU and $46,000 in the US.
