DORPO DMP-A1 DIGITAL MUSIC PLAYER LAUNCHED WITH MULTI-FUNCTION AUDIO CAPABILITIES
dorpo has announced the DMP-A1 Digital Music Player, a multi-function component combining music streaming, digital audio playback, DAC, pre-amplification and headphone amplification in a single unit.
Positioned as a central hub for both desktop and full HiFi systems, the DMP-A1 is designed to work with active speakers, power amplifiers or headphones across a variety of setups.

The dorpo DMP-A1 Digital Music Player supports high-resolution audio playback up to 32-bit/768kHz PCM and DSD512, with compatibility for formats including FLAC, WAV, APE and MQA, alongside DSF, DFF and SACD ISO files. Network streaming functionality includes integration with services such as Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, Apple Music and Amazon Music, with support for Roon Ready, AirPlay, DLNA, Bluetooth and various “Connect” platforms. Some services are expected to be enabled via future firmware updates.
DORPO DMP-A1 DIGITAL MUSIC PLAYER DAC AND PROCESSING
At the core of the unit is an ESS ES9039SPro DAC chip, paired with a dual clock design and an XMOS XU316 processor. This configuration is intended to handle high-resolution audio data and decoding, including full MQA support, while maintaining low noise and distortion performance.
CONNECTIVITY AND SYSTEM INTEGRATION
The DMP-A1 provides a wide range of inputs and outputs, including optical, coaxial, USB, HDMI ARC and Bluetooth. It can function as a standalone DAC/preamp feeding a power amplifier or active speakers, and includes a 12V trigger for system integration. Fully balanced analogue circuitry is employed throughout the signal path to support channel separation and noise performance.
POWER SUPPLY AND HEADPHONE AMPLIFICATION
A dual power supply design separates analogue and digital circuits, using a linear supply for audio stages and a switching supply for digital processing. The built-in headphone amplifier includes both 6.35mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs, supporting headphones rated between 16 and 300 ohms.
STORAGE, DESIGN AND USER INTERFACE
The unit supports external USB storage and network drives, and also includes an internal slot for M.2 NVMe SSD storage of up to 8TB. Physically, the DMP-A1 features an aluminium chassis with a front-mounted five-inch touchscreen and rotary volume control. It runs a customised Android 12-based operating system, with control available via the onboard interface or the dp SmartController mobile app, which also enables screen mirroring.

The dorpo DMP-A1 Digital Music Player is scheduled for availability in the UK and Europe in early Q2 2026. Pricing is set at £1,799 inc UK VAT and €2,100.
