CAMBRIDGE AUDIO MSX SPEAKER RANGE LAUNCHED AS REFRESHED MINX SUCCESSOR
British HiFi brand Cambridge Audio has announced the new Cambridge Audio MSX speaker range, a revised version of its long-running Minx series.
The new line retains the compact form factor and modular approach of its predecessor, while introducing updated naming, finishes, and driver refinements. The system is designed to suit both stereo and home cinema applications, with flexibility for different room sizes and layouts.
CAMBRIDGE AUDIO MSX MODULAR SPEAKER RANGE
The Cambridge Audio MSX range consists of two satellite speakers, the MSX10 and MSX20, alongside two subwoofers, the MSX Sub 200 and MSX Sub 300. The system is modular, allowing users to build configurations ranging from simple stereo setups to multi-channel surround systems. Cambridge Audio positions the range as suitable for modern living spaces where compact speaker design is a priority.
MSX DRIVERS AND DESIGN APPROACH
At the core of the Cambridge Audio MSX speakers is the company’s fourth-generation Balanced Mode Radiator (BMR) driver technology. This design combines traditional piston movement with bending-wave dispersion, aiming to deliver wide sound dispersion from a single driver.
The MSX10 uses a single BMR driver in a compact cabinet, while the MSX20 adds a dedicated woofer to increase low-frequency extension and overall scale. The larger model is intended for bigger rooms or listeners seeking greater output and dynamic range.
MSX SUBWOOFERS AND BASS PERFORMANCE
Low-frequency duties in the Cambridge Audio MSX system are handled by two subwoofers. The MSX Sub 200 features a 200-watt amplifier, a 6.5-inch active driver, and dual Auxiliary Bass Radiators (ABRs). The MSX Sub 300 increases output with a 300-watt amplifier and an 8-inch driver in a larger enclosure.
Both subwoofers incorporate Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to manage performance and maintain control at higher listening levels.
CAMBRIDGE AUDIO MSX DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OPTIONS
The Cambridge Audio MSX range is available in matt-black and matt-white finishes, with an emphasis on discreet integration into domestic environments. The satellite speakers can be placed on furniture or wall-mounted, with optional accessories including pivoting wall mounts and ডেস্ক stands.
Standard speaker terminals support conventional connections, including 4mm banana plugs, allowing compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers and AV receivers.
CAMBRIDGE AUDIO MSX PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Cambridge Audio MSX range is scheduled for availability this month. Pricing is set at £79 per unit for the MSX10, £99 per unit for the MSX20, £349 for the MSX Sub 200, and £449 for the MSX Sub 300.
