BURMESTER PURE SOUND MASTER RECORDINGS DEBUTS WITH LACQUER RELEASE OF OSCAR PETERSON TRIO ALBUM

Luxury German HiFi brand Burmester has introduced the first release in its new PURE SOUND Master Recordings series, starting with the classic 1964 jazz album We Get Requests by the Oscar Peterson Trio.

This launch marks an expansion of the Berlin-based audio manufacturer’s PURE SOUND initiative, which is focused on delivering the most authentic musical playback possible.

The Burmester PURE SOUND – Master Recordings series features lacquer records cut in real time from 1:1 copies of original master tapes. With no editing or digital filtering, the process captures the music exactly as it was originally played. The aim is to preserve the full artistic and sonic integrity of the recordings—whether in the detail of a live performance or the precision of a studio session.

LIMITED RELEASE OF OSCAR PETERSON TRIO’S ICONIC ALBUM

The debut title, We Get Requests, is being released in a highly limited edition of just 333 copies. The number is a nod to the 33⅓ RPM speed standard of traditional vinyl, paying tribute to the analogue heritage that Burmester embraces. The 12-inch lacquer record, cut at 33⅓ RPM, is pressed on premium acetate and presented in bespoke packaging that includes a limited artist print.

By using a direct-to-disc lacquer cutting method, Burmester captures even the most subtle nuances of the performance—from the lightest brush on the cymbals to Oscar Peterson’s expressive piano phrasing. The release reproduces all ten tracks from the original album, spread across two sides, and offers an unusually transparent and tactile listening experience.

A GLOBAL RELEASE WITH EARLY ACCESS OPTIONS

The lacquer pressing of We Get Requests is available exclusively via Burmester’s official online shop. Until 15 May 2025, access is restricted to purchasers using a voucher code available from select Burmester retailers. From that date, global sales will open to all listeners through the online platform.
