BLUESOUND POWERNODE STREAMING AMPLIFIER GETS POWER AND CONNECTIVITY UPGRADE

Bluesound Powernode Streaming Amplifier Updated For 2025

Bluesound has announced a new version of its POWERNODE streaming amplifier. The updated Bluesound Powernode model retains the compact form factor and high-resolution streaming capabilities of its predecessor but includes several performance and connectivity enhancements.

BLUESOUND POWERNODE STREAMING AMPLIFIER NOW INCLUDES HDMI eARC AND CENTRE CHANNEL SUPPORT

The new POWERNODE is designed to operate as a standalone system or as part of a larger setup. It now supports HDMI eARC, allowing direct connection to televisions for improved AV integration. In addition to powering stereo speakers, the unit can drive a third, centre channel speaker, enabling a basic 3.1 system without the need for an AV receiver. For full surround setups, users can wirelessly pair it with other Bluesound devices, including PULSE speakers and the PULSE SUB+, creating a 5.1 system without physical speaker wiring.

AMPLIFICATION IMPROVED WITH LATEST CLASS D DESIGN AND GaN TECHNOLOGY

Bluesound has revised the internal amplifier section. The new model uses an updated DirectDigital™ amplifier design with gallium nitride (GaN) transistors. It delivers 100 watts per channel in stereo or 80 watts per channel when powering a 3.1 setup. Bluesound states that the changes offer improved efficiency and lower distortion compared to previous models.

BLUESOUND POWERNODE STREAMING AMPLIFIER BUILT ON BLUOS PLATFORM

Like other products in the Bluesound range, the new POWERNODE runs on the BluOS multi-room platform. It supports over 20 streaming services and handles audio up to 24-bit/192kHz, including MQA and DSD256. The BluOS Controller app, available on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows, provides full control over playback and system configuration. Users can stream local libraries, internet radio, and synchronise playback with other BluOS devices in multiple rooms.

PHYSICAL DESIGN AND CONTROL OPTIONS UPDATED

The unit retains a minimalist design and is available in black or white matte finishes. A top-mounted glass panel now includes a proximity sensor and five touch-sensitive, user-assignable presets for direct access to content without using the app. The form factor allows it to fit easily into existing media setups or shelf-based HiFi systems.

CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS INCLUDE USB-C AND BLUETOOTH

Connectivity has been expanded to include USB-C audio input, optical and analogue inputs, and aptX Adaptive Bluetooth. There’s also a 6.3mm headphone output, powered by a dedicated THX AAA headphone amplifier. The new POWERNODE is also Dirac Live Ready, supporting future use of room correction software for precise system tuning.

PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The new Bluesound POWERNODE streaming amplifier will be available for pre-order from 12th August 2025. It will be priced at €1099 EUR / £899 GBP and is scheduled to ship from 10th September 2025. Finish options include matte black and white.

HiFi PiG Says: Lots of updates for the very popular Bluesound Powernode.
