AUDIOQUEST BRAVE HEART ZERO-TECH SPEAKER CABLE DEBUTS WITH LARGER BUILD AND REFINED NOISE CONTROL
AudioQuest has introduced a new speaker cable, the AudioQuest Brave Heart ZERO-Tech, expanding its range of ZERO-Tech designs with a model positioned below the brand’s top-tier Mythical Creature series.
AudioQuest Brave Heart incorporates several established AudioQuest technologies along with new design adjustments intended to improve signal delivery and noise management.
AUDIOQUEST BRAVE HEART ZERO-TECH SPEAKER CABLE
The AudioQuest Brave Heart ZERO-Tech Speaker Cable shares similar proportions to the company’s larger models, with an outer diameter just 0.6mm smaller than its Mythical Creature equivalents. Internally, it uses nearly a third more Perfect-Surface Copper+ (PSC+) conductor material than previous cables in this category. The design separates positive and negative conductors into distinct round constructions, aiming to maintain damping factor and amplifier control over longer cable runs — a consideration especially relevant for ported loudspeakers.
MODIFIED INSULATION TO REDUCE DISTORTION
Brave Heart uses an updated polypropylene insulation that increases spacing between conductors. This is intended to reduce the impact of distributed capacitance, which can affect clarity and tonal accuracy. According to AudioQuest, this change supports more linear bandwidth and contributes to the cable’s noise dissipation characteristics.
MATERIAL CHANGES TO ADDRESS RF NOISE
Additional noise control measures include the use of thicker layers of Carbon-Loaded PVC, the introduction of Graphene, and the inclusion of 4% silver shield drain wires. These materials are designed to absorb or redirect radio-frequency noise, which can otherwise enter sensitive audio components.
As with other AudioQuest cables, Brave Heart uses solid-core conductors to avoid strand interaction. The conductors are direction-controlled to guide noise away from sensitive amplifier inputs. The cable also incorporates the company’s 72v Dielectric-Bias System (DBS), which aims to reduce dielectric-induced signal distortion.
ZERO-TECH IMPLEMENTATION IN BRAVE HEART
Brave Heart includes AudioQuest’s proprietary ZERO-Tech architecture, which is designed to minimise impedance mismatches between the amplifier and loudspeaker. This configuration is intended to support uncompressed current transfer and stable signal behaviour across the frequency range.
TERMINATION AND INSTALLATION DETAILS
Terminations are designed to support the electrical requirements of ZERO-Tech, with a connection between the positive drain wire and negative conductor concealed at the speaker end. Despite its overall size, the cable maintains flexibility to simplify routing and connection at the amplifier side. Termination options include Red Copper spades or banana plugs, with cold-welded gas-tight connections and non-metallic hardware to avoid interference.
AUDIOQUEST BRAVE HEART ZERO-TECH SPEAKER CABLE PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The AudioQuest Brave Heart ZERO-Tech Speaker Cable is expected to ship in August. UK pricing is £4,249 for a 2.5m pair and £4,799 for a 3m pair. European pricing is €4,999 (2.5m) and €5,649 (3m). In the US, the cable will cost $4,990 for an 8ft pair and $5,790 for a 10ft pair. Canadian pricing is $6,790 and $7,890 respectively. Custom lengths and termination types are available to order.
