AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-LP7X TURNTABLE ANNOUNCED
Audio-Technica has announced the Audio-Technica AT-LP7X Turntable, a fully manual, belt-drive turntable aimed at vinyl listeners looking for a straightforward design combined with established analogue engineering.
The Audio-Technica AT-LP7X Turntablenis positioned as a minimalist, performance-focused record player, continuing the company’s long-running involvement in turntable and cartridge design. It launched at CES 2026.
AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-LP7X TURNTABLE
The Audio-Technica AT-LP7X features a matte black finish and a solid construction intended to reduce unwanted resonance. Its plinth is made from dense MDF, while a 20mm-thick acrylic platter is used to help control vibration during playback. Audio-Technica states that this combination is designed to limit mechanical noise reaching the stylus, supporting more stable record reproduction.

TONEARM AND CARTRIDGE ON AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-LP7X
A J-shaped aluminium tonearm is fitted to the Audio-Technica AT-LP7X, drawing visual and mechanical inspiration from classic Audio-Technica designs of the 1960s and 1970s. The arm uses a dual-axis gimbal system with precision bearings to allow smooth, low-friction movement. The turntable is supplied with an AT-VM95E moving magnet cartridge pre-mounted on an AT-LT10 headshell. Users can also fit other styli from the VM95 Series if they wish to change the sound or upgrade later.

Audio-Technica has included several adjustment options on the AT-LP7X to accommodate different cartridges and listening preferences. Vertical tracking angle adjustment, anti-skate control and an additional subcounterweight are provided. The supplied 16g subcounterweight supports a range of cartridge and headshell combinations, with a heavier 32g option available separately for higher-mass setups.
PHONO STAGE AND CONNECTIVITY
The Audio-Technica AT-LP7X includes a built-in, switchable phono pre-amplifier that supports both MM and MC cartridges. This allows the turntable to be connected directly to systems without a dedicated phono input, while also offering flexibility for those using external phono stages. Standard RCA outputs are supplied, along with the necessary cables.

SPEED CONTROL AND ISOLATION
Supporting 33⅓ and 45 RPM playback, the Audio-Technica AT-LP7X uses an optical speed-sensor system to maintain consistent platter rotation. The motor is mounted with vibration-damping measures, and spring-based isolation feet are fitted to help reduce the effect of external vibration. An external power supply is also used to further separate electrical noise from the main chassis.

AUDIO-TECHNICA AT-LP7X TURNTABLE AVAILABILITY AND PRICE
The Audio-Technica AT-LP7X is available now. Pricing is set at £679 in the UK, with the turntable supplied complete with dust cover, RCA cable and 45 RPM adapter.
