Audeze’s LCD series has been around for a decade, since they launched with the LCD-2 in 2009, they then introduced the LCD-3 in 2011, LCD-4 in 2015 and now in 2021, the Audeze LCD-5.
With the Audeze LCD-5, everything has been improved including drivers, earpads, frame design, or improved performance and comfort.
PARALLEL UNIFORCE VOICE COILS
The Audeze LCD-5 features drivers engineered with Fluxor magnets and updated Fazor waveguides along with Audeze’s new Patent-pending Parallel Uniforce™ voice coils, which employ varying width parallel traces to keep the impedance low and provide increased voltage headroom by altering the current density within each trace. The uniform force created by this optimization lowers distortion and provides better control over diaphragm movement, resulting in improved sonic resolution.
LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN
Weighing in at only 420 grams, the Audeze LCD-5 has been re-engineered, using materials such as magnesium, aluminium and acetate which offer lightweight and high rigidity. The new sculpted, internally sloped earpad architecture reduces unwanted resonances and interior reflections. The headphones are hand-assembled in Audeze’s California workshop.
