ATC EL50 Loudspeakers At AXPONA 2026
ATC EL50 ACTIVE 3-WAY TOWER MAKES NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT AT AXPONA 2026
Following its first showing at The Bristol HiFi Show 2026, the ATC EL50 Anniversary Active 3-way Tower will make its North American debut at AXPONA 2026.
The new model builds on ATC’s long-established 50-series loudspeaker platform, combining active amplification with a three-way floorstanding design.
ATC EL50 ACTIVE 3-WAY TOWER AND ITS ACTIVE TRI-AMP DESIGN
The ATC EL50 Active 3-way Tower continues the brand’s use of active tri-amplification, a configuration it has refined over several decades. Each drive unit is powered independently via a dedicated amplifier channel, with output ratings of 200W for bass, 100W for midrange and 50W for high frequencies. The system includes balanced inputs, user-adjustable sensitivity and integrated active crossovers.
A newly developed amplifier pack introduces discrete gain stages and a revised power supply design. Each channel is served by its own toroidal transformer, alongside a separate supply for low-voltage circuits. According to ATC, this approach is intended to reduce distortion and improve headroom under demanding conditions.

CABINET AND DESIGN DETAILS
The enclosure design draws on ATC’s earlier elliptical cabinet concepts, with a curved front baffle and edges aimed at reducing diffraction effects. The cabinet construction has been updated to increase stiffness and internal damping, with the bass driver mounted into a machined aluminium ring to further reinforce the structure.
Finishing includes hand-selected European walnut veneers, ebony rear panel detailing and napa leather trim on the front sections surrounding the mid and high-frequency drivers. The loudspeaker is supplied with alloy foot-bars for spike mounting and a magnetically attached fabric grille.
DRIVE UNIT COMPLEMENT
All drive units in the ATC EL50 Active 3-way Tower are designed and manufactured in-house. The high-frequency driver is the SH25-76S tweeter, featuring a neodymium motor and fabric dome. Midrange duties are handled by ATC’s SM75-150S ‘Superdome’, covering a wide bandwidth from 380Hz to 3.5kHz.
Low frequencies are delivered by the SB75-234SL bass driver, which incorporates ATC’s Super Linear motor system to reduce distortion. The design also allows for extended low-frequency excursion while maintaining control across different listening levels.

ATC EL50 PRICE AND US AVAILABILITY
The EL50 Anniversary version will initially be released as a limited run of 50 pairs, each accompanied by a hardbound book outlining ATC’s history since its founding in 1974. Following this initial release, the model will move into regular production.
Each loudspeaker is shipped in an individual plywood crate, with a packed weight of 111kg per unit.
US availability is expected from April 2026, with pricing set at $99,999 per pair.
