ATC EL50 ANNIVERSARY LOUDSPEAKER LAUNCHES AT BRISTOL HIFI SHOW 2026
ATC has announced the ATC EL50 Anniversary, a new active three-way floorstanding loudspeaker derived from the company’s long-running “50” platform.
The model continues ATC’s discrete active tri-amplified approach, with design lineage tracing back through earlier models including the SCM50 Anniversary and SE Series. Industrial design references the elliptical-cabinet EL150, originally developed under founder Bill Woodman.
ATC EL50 ANNIVERSARY LOUDSPEAKER AMPLIFICATION AND ELECTRONICS
The ATC EL50 Anniversary introduces a new three-channel active “Amp-Pack” with balanced input, user controls and fourth-order active crossovers. Power output is rated at 200W for bass, 100W for midrange and 50W for high frequencies. The design uses discrete gain stages and individual toroidal transformers for each amplifier channel plus a separate low-voltage supply, aiming to reduce noise and intermodulation distortion while maintaining headroom. Additional features include selectable input sensitivity, trigger control, MOSFET class A/B output stages and onboard fault monitoring.
ATC EL50 ANNIVERSARY LOUDSPEAKER CABINET AND FINISH
The ATC EL50 Anniversary cabinet uses a laminated multi-layer construction intended to improve stiffness and damping. A curved front baffle and edges are designed to reduce diffraction and maintain consistent on- and off-axis response. The bass driver is mounted into an aluminium ring fixed to the front panel to increase rigidity. Standard finish includes hand-selected European walnut veneer with ebony inlays, high-gloss lacquer and napa leather detailing around the midrange and tweeter.
ATC EL50 ANNIVERSARY LOUDSPEAKER DRIVE UNITS
All drivers in the ATC EL50 Anniversary are designed and manufactured in-house. The high-frequency unit is ATC’s SH25-76S tweeter with neodymium motor and dual-suspension dome assembly. Midrange duties are handled by the SM75-150S 75mm “Superdome” covering 380Hz–3.5kHz. Low frequencies are delivered by the SB75-234SL 9-inch bass driver using ATC’s Super Linear motor system to reduce harmonic distortion and maintain linear excursion.
PRODUCTION, PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The ATC EL50 Anniversary will initially be produced as a limited run of 50 pairs, each supplied with a hardbound book documenting ATC’s history since 1974. Ongoing production is expected to follow the limited edition. UK pricing is set at £49,500 per pair including VAT, with availability scheduled from March 2026.
