AK SOLARIS X IEM From Astell&Kern And Campfire Audio

AK SOLARIS X IEM IS THE FIRST COLLABORATION BETWEEN ASTELL&KERN AND CAMPFIRE AUDIO

Astell&Kern has announced a new collaboration with Campfire Audio to produce in-ear monitors (IEMs) under the Astell&Kern brand.

The limited-edition Astell&Kern AK SOLARIS X IEM is the first product to be released under the new collaboration.

AK SOLARIS X IEM

The AK SOLARIS X is based on the Campfire Solaris 2020 IEM, but features a new custom Balanced Armature (BA) driver for high frequency response that was designed specifically for the AK SOLARIS X. This driver is smaller in size than the ones used in existing Solaris models. The new custom BA driver produces a more neutral response in comparison to the current Campfire Audio Solaris 2020 model. Coupled with Campfire’s patented tuned acoustic expansion chamber (T.A.E.C.) technology, the new driver claims to offer smooth and extended high frequencies.

POLARITY TUNED CHAMBER

A Second BA driver provides delivery of the mid-range frequencies, and the custom 10mm dynamic driver optimized for the Polarity Tuned Chamber reproduces deeper and more refined mid-to-low frequencies. Each earphone integrates a 3D Printed Acoustic Chamber. Beryllium/copper MMCX connectors on the IEM are used as they are found to be more resilient against wear and tear than regular brass connectors.

PURE SILVER CABLE

The AK SOLARIS X comes with a balanced 2.5mm pure silver cable. Pure Silver Litz Cable is produced with four 4N (99.99% purity) conductors and the jacket that wraps around each conductor ensures both flexibility and durability. At the same time, it is soft to touch and a practical to use every day. A matching 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter is provided for use with a variety of playback devices.

ACCESSORIES

Accessories bundled with the AK SOLARIS X include an eco-friendly cork case that is hand-made in Portugal, various sized ear tips, earphone protective sleeves and a cleaning tool.

The AK SOLARIS X is hand-assembled by Campfire Audio in Portland, Oregon, USA by their craftsmen.
