Technics SL-1210MKX Turntable
TECHNICS SL-1210MKX PROFESSIONAL DIRECT-DRIVE DJ TURNTABLE INTRODUCED
Technics has announced the Technics SL-1210MKX Turntable, a new professional direct-drive DJ turntable positioned above the SL-1210MK7.
Developed with input from working DJs and sound engineers, the new model is designed for club, festival and live performance environments, with a focus on vibration resistance, pitch precision and additional creative control. The Technics SL-1210MKX has just been launched at Pacific in Amsterdam during the 30th anniversary edition of Amsterdam Dance Event…you can also hear it at the Av Show Warsaw 2026 later this week.

TECHNICS SL-1210MKX TURNTABLE
The Technics SL-1210MKX Turntable has been developed around the demands of professional vinyl performance, including environments where powerful sound systems, deep bass, structural vibration and extended operating periods can place additional demands on DJ equipment.

TECHNICS SL-1210MKX VIBRATION RESISTANCE
The turntable features a heavier, optimally balanced chassis designed to provide greater resistance to external vibration. Newly designed isolation feet are intended to combine feedback isolation with the stability needed for scratching and other performance techniques.
Technics says the design is intended to reduce the risk of acoustic feedback in bass-heavy environments and allow DJs to work at higher sound pressure levels and with more extreme EQ settings.
TECHNICS SL-1210MKX PITCH CONTROL
The SL-1210MKX introduces a dedicated ±4% pitch range, providing finer adjustment for beatmatching and subtle tempo correction. It also adds a ±50% pitch range alongside the standard settings, giving DJs a wider range of tempo adjustment for creative mixing and turntablism.
Other features include a quieter reset switch, a coreless direct-drive motor with adjustable start-up torque and brake speed, 78 rpm playback and reverse functionality. The turntable has a polished silver tonearm and black finish, with the design paying tribute to the SL-1200MK2.

PROFESSIONAL DJ APPLICATIONS
The SL-1210MKX is intended for headline and touring vinyl DJs, club and festival DJs, and scratch and performance specialists. It is also designed for permanent DJ installations in nightclubs and music venues, as well as rental, backline and professional DJ service companies.
Technics says the turntable has been developed to meet the requirements of professional users who prioritise stability, durability, precision and creative control.
55 YEARS OF THE SL-1200 SERIES
The SL-1210MKX arrives as Technics celebrates 55 years of the SL-1200 Series. First introduced in 1972, the SL-1200 established itself as a direct-drive turntable used by generations of DJs and became closely associated with the development of disco, hip-hop, house, techno and turntablism.
The 1979 SL-1200MK2 further developed the design with quartz-controlled direct drive and the professional layout that became widely adopted in DJ booths. The SL-1210MKX continues this lineage as an upper-line professional model. Technics says the “X” represents “Extreme and Expert”, reflecting the intended operating environment and users.
TECHNICS SL-1210MKX PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The Technics SL-1210MKX will be available from January 2027 through selected Technics retailers. The recommended retail price is €1,499 / £1,299.
