PureAudioProject Quartet15 Open-Baffle Loudspeakers

PUREAUDIOPROJECT QUARTET15 MAKES OFFICIAL DEBUT AT SOUTHWEST AUDIO FEST

The new PureAudioProject Quartet15 loudspeaker will debut at the Southwest Audio Fest, taking place in Dallas, Texas, from 23rd to 25th July.

The new PureAudioProject Quartet15 builds on the company’s 14 years of experience developing open-baffle loudspeakers and joins its existing Line15 range.

Designed for medium to large listening rooms, the Quartet15 combines two proprietary 15-inch paper-cone woofers, a custom 10-inch paper-cone mid-woofer and a 5-inch Voxativ AF-2.6 full-range driver, which is used to reproduce the high frequencies. According to PureAudioProject, the use of paper-cone drivers throughout is intended to provide consistent tonal balance across the frequency range.

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

The Quartet15 employs PureAudioProject’s modular “Thrier” crossover in a first-order three-way configuration. The crossover uses Mundorf MCAP EVO Silver Gold Oil capacitors and is designed to allow owners to replace components if they wish to experiment with alternative parts.

As with other PureAudioProject loudspeakers, the Quartet15 features a modular construction with a choice of baffle materials and finishes. Options include coloured MDF, Valchromat HDF, three-layer bamboo and solid American walnut, oak or maple.

Technical specifications include a quoted sensitivity of more than 96dB in a typical room, an 8-ohm nominal impedance and a frequency response of 29–32Hz to 20kHz. The loudspeaker weighs from 36kg and is designed to be positioned approximately 60–106cm from the rear wall.

PUREAUDIOPROJECT QUARTET15 SHIPS FLAT-PACKED

Like the company’s other open-baffle designs, the Quartet15 is supplied flat-packed for customer assembly. PureAudioProject says assembly requires only an Allen key for the loudspeaker itself and a screwdriver for the crossover. Components are manufactured in either the USA or the EU before being shipped directly to customers.
