British HiFi brand Kerr Acoustic has announced the Kerr Acoustic K400 Loudspeaker, a compact two-way design aimed at both domestic and professional applications.

Positioned as the company’s smallest model to date, the Kerr Acoustic K400 Loudspeaker is intended for use in space-limited environments while maintaining the design approach seen in its larger models. It can be used as a stand-mount speaker or installed via wall and ceiling mounting, marking a first for the brand.

The K400 draws on the engineering principles established in the K300, adapting them into a smaller enclosure. The cabinet uses a combination of 24mm, 18mm and 12mm Baltic birch plywood, incorporating internal bracing and a transmission line loading design. This approach is intended to support extended low-frequency performance and controlled resonance behaviour within a compact form factor.

DRIVER COMPLEMENT AND CONFIGURATION

The speaker features a 150mm Scanspeak mid-bass driver paired with a 45mm true ribbon tweeter. This configuration is relatively uncommon in both home and professional loudspeakers. The crossover is a six-element, second-order design operating at 1.95kHz, using components such as film capacitors, air-core inductors and carbon film resistors.

KERR ACOUSTIC K400 LOUDSPEAKER APPLICATIONS

With four rear-mounted M8 fixing points, the K400 is designed to accommodate flexible installation options, including multichannel and immersive audio setups such as Dolby Atmos. Its compact dimensions and mounting capability make it suitable for both stereo listening in smaller rooms and professional monitoring or surround system integration.

PERFORMANCE AND SPECIFICATIONS

The K400 has a stated frequency response of 39Hz to 45kHz, with a sensitivity of 88dB and nominal impedance of 6 ohms. Each cabinet measures 341mm high, 164mm wide and 310mm deep, and weighs 7.5kg. Connection is via a single pair of 4mm binding posts. The design aims to deliver full-range performance within a reduced enclosure size.

KERR ACOUSTIC K400 LOUDSPEAKER BUILD AND FINISH

Finish options include real wood veneers such as oak and walnut, as well as satin and high-gloss lacquer finishes available in a range of RAL colours. Magnetic grilles are supplied as standard, and optional dedicated stands are available separately.

KERR ACOUSTIC K400 LOUDSPEAKER PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The K400 loudspeaker will be available to pre-order from 8th May 2026. Pricing (inc. VAT) is set at £4,695 for real wood veneer, £4,925 for satin lacquer, £5,125 for high gloss lacquer, and £5,345 for high gloss veneer. Matching stands are priced at £595 per pair.

HiFi PiG says: Great to see how well Kerr Acoustic are doing on the global stage!
