Dan D’agostino Momentum C2Z Preamplifier
DAN D’AGOSTINO MOMENTUM C2Z PREAMPLIFIER DEBUTED AT AXPONA 2026
Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems has announced the Dan D’agostino Momentum C2Z Preamplifier , a new addition to its Momentum Series. The product made its debut at AXPONA 2026, which took place last weekend, where it was demonstrated alongside the Momentum Z Monoblock Power Amplifiers.
The Dan D’agostino Momentum C2Z Preamplifier is positioned as the ultimate companion model for the Momentum Z Monoblock Power Amplifiers, rather than a replacement for the existing Momentum C2.

DAN D’AGOSTINO MOMENTUM C2Z PREAMPLIFIER
The Momentum C2Z Preamplifier has been developed specifically to complement the Momentum Z Monoblock amplifier. According to the company, the aim is to improve the electrical interface between preamplifier and power amplifier, with a focus on system matching and overall performance. The design centres on enabling closer integration between the two components, particularly in how signal and current are transferred.

A key change in the C2Z is a redesigned output stage incorporating a current-capable field-effect transistor (FET) architecture. This approach allows the preamplifier to deliver increased current to the partnering amplifier. The revised circuitry is intended to provide greater stability and more effective control when driving the Momentum Z’s input stage.
FET IMPLEMENTATION AND TECHNICAL APPROACH
The use of FETs in the Momentum C2Z Preamplifier plays a central role in its design. FET devices are known for high input impedance, low noise, and linear operation, which can help preserve signal integrity. In this application, the FET-based output stage is configured to deliver higher current while maintaining low distortion and stable performance across a range of operating conditions.
DAN D’AGOSTINO MOMENTUM C2Z PREAMPLIFIER AND Z CIRCUITRY INTERACTION
The Momentum Z amplifier introduces a modified input stage that differs from conventional high-impedance designs by allowing increased current draw. When paired with the C2Z, this creates a system in which the preamplifier supplies current more directly and the amplifier is designed to accept and utilise it. The result is intended to strengthen the electrical coupling between components.
PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS
This system approach is said to influence several aspects of playback, including transient response and dynamic contrast. Particular attention has been given to low-frequency reproduction, where the design aims to maintain control and detail, even at lower listening levels. The interaction between the C2Z preamplifier and Momentum Z amplifier is intended to support consistent performance across the frequency range.
SYSTEM INTEGRATION WITHIN THE MOMENTUM SERIES
The Momentum C2Z Preamplifier expands the existing Momentum range, which has been in development for over fifteen years. The series now sits alongside other product lines from the company, including Relentless, Progression, and Pendulum. The C2Z is designed as part of a broader ecosystem, with an emphasis on component matching within the range.
