Noble Audio has announced the launch of the Noble Audio Sceptre, a compact Bluetooth audio dongle designed to improve wireless audio performance from smartphones, tablets and computers.

The Noble Audio Sceptre marks Noble’s first move into external Bluetooth transmission hardware, following several years focused on wired and true wireless earphones.

NOBLE AUDIO SCEPTRE

The Noble Audio Sceptre is intended to bypass the limitations of built-in Bluetooth systems commonly found in phones, laptops and tablets. By acting as an external Bluetooth transmitter, it enables access to higher-quality wireless codecs, including LDAC and aptX Adaptive, alongside AAC and SBC. This allows compatible headphones, earphones or speakers to receive higher-quality Bluetooth audio regardless of the host device’s native capabilities.

NOBLE AUDIO SCEPTRE AND BLUETOOTH TECHNOLOGY

At the heart of the Noble Audio Sceptre is Qualcomm’s QCC5181 chipset, supporting Bluetooth 5.4. According to Noble, handling Bluetooth transmission externally allows for more consistent performance and broader codec support across different platforms. The device supports standard Bluetooth profiles including A2DP, HFP and AVRCP, covering music playback, calls and basic media controls.

DESIGN AND EVERYDAY USE

The Noble Audio Sceptre connects via USB-C and includes a charge-through design, allowing the host device to be charged while the dongle is in use. This makes it suitable for longer listening sessions at a desk or while travelling. Wireless range is quoted at up to 20 metres, and compatibility extends across true wireless earphones, over-ear headphones and powered Bluetooth speakers. Initial setup is handled through the Noble app, after which the dongle can be moved between compatible USB-C devices.

NOBLE AUDIO SCEPTRE AVAILABILITY AND PRICING

The Noble Audio Sceptre is now available. Pricing is set at £64.99 in the UK, $69.99 in the US and €69.99 in Europe.

HiFi PiG Says: A cool new gadget from Nobel, without a hefty price tag.
