Gryphon Audio Designs is marking its 40th anniversary with the release of the Gryphon 40 Integrated Amplifier, a limited-edition model designed to commemorate the brand’s heritage in high-end audio.
Founded in 1985 by HiFi legend Flemming E. Rasmussen, who is now part of the equally legendary design team at Audio Group Denmark, the company has focused on combining engineering precision with Scandinavian industrial design, and the new Gryphon 40 arrives as part of this continuing legacy.
GRYPHON 40 INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER
The Gryphon 40 draws inspiration from the company’s long-running Diablo series of amplifiers. Its development is based on the design of the Diablo 333, incorporating additional mechanical and visual detailing created specifically for the anniversary edition. Led by Chief Designer Tom Møller, the project aims to reflect Gryphon’s design history while presenting updated aesthetics. Each unit also includes presentation materials marking the anniversary, including a leather-bound owner’s manual and documents signed by founder Flemming E. Rasmussen.
The release of the Gryphon 40 references the lineage that began with the Diablo 250 in 2004. The Diablo 250 helped set expectations for integrated amplification in the high-end sector, with the Diablo 333 continuing the evolution in performance and build refinement. The new Gryphon 40 follows this progression, presenting an interpretation intended to represent both the brand’s past and future approach to audio engineering.
LIMITED EDITION
The Gryphon 40 Integrated Amplifier is being produced as a limited edition. Each example ships with an anniversary package including commemorative documents and artwork linked to the company’s original design concepts. This model is positioned as both a functional HiFi component and a collector’s item for those who follow the brand’s product history.

The Gryphon 40 Integrated Amplifier is priced at £27,995 inc VAT. Orders are being accepted until 31st December 2025. In the UK, this is through Harmony HiFi’s dealer network.
