B.AUDIO PHONO MODULE BRINGS VINYL COMPATIBILITY TO ALPHA ONE AND DAC-PREAMPS

French manufacturer B.audio has introduced a new phono stage, available as an optional module for its Alpha One integrated amplifier and its range of DAC-preamps.

The B.audio Phono Module allows direct connection of a turntable without the need for an external phono stage, while keeping the entire signal path in the analogue domain.

A complete analogue system featuring the Alpha One with the Phono Module was recently demonstrated at the High End Munich exhibition, showcasing the module’s integration into the company’s ecosystem.

B.AUDIO PHONO MODULE DESIGN AND ENGINEERING

The B.audio Phono Module builds on the company’s experience in analogue signal processing, incorporating lessons from its reference-level electronics. The design includes an ultra low-noise input stage with matched transistors in parallel and a two-stage passive RIAA correction.

SUPPORT FOR MOVING-MAGNET AND MOVING-COIL CARTRIDGES

The B.audio Phono Module supports both moving-magnet (MM) and moving-coil (MC) cartridges. Gain and impedance settings are configurable to suit a wide variety of cartridges, with adjustments possible directly from the remote control.

B.AUDIO PHONO MODULE SPECIFICATIONS

Gain settings are offered in two steps for each cartridge type:

MM: +38dB (low) and +50dB (high)

MC: +58dB (low) and +70dB (high)

Selectable impedance values include:

MM: 50pF, 100pF, 150pF, 200pF

MC: 33Ω, 50Ω, 100Ω, 150Ω, 300Ω

COMPATIBILITY ACROSS B.AUDIO UNITS

The new phono board can be fitted into the following models: B.dpr one, B.dpr one EX, B.dpr, B.dpr EX, and the Alpha One integrated amplifier.

The B.audio Phono Module is available now. It is priced at EUR 2,000 including VAT when specified at the time of purchase, or EUR 2,500 including VAT as an upgrade for existing models.
