RELOOP RP-7 7” TURNTABLE SYSTEM INTRODUCED VIA HENLEY AUDIO

Reloop RP-7 7'' Turntable hifi news

Turntables aimed at DJs and enthusiasts are almost always designed around the 12-inch format, but Reloop has taken a different approach with the release of the Reloop RP-7 Professional 7” Turntable System.

Available in the UK through Henley Audio, this is a direct-drive turntable built specifically for 7-inch vinyl. While it is an unusual concept, there is likely to be significant interest among DJs, collectors, and fans of 45s who value this enduring format.

RELOOP RP-7 7” TURNTABLE SYSTEM

At the core of the Reloop RP-7 is a newly developed brushless DC motor with a starting torque of 2.5 kg/cm. This is designed to ensure stable playback, quick start-up times under one second, and reduced wow and flutter. The die-cast aluminium platter is precision-machined, while an integrated switching power supply is included to minimise interference.

TONEARM DESIGN BASED ON RELOOP FLAGSHIPS

The tonearm design of the Reloop RP-7 draws on elements from Reloop’s established RP-7000 and RP-8000 MK2 models. It features a straight copper tonearm with internal rubber damping to limit resonance and improve tracking accuracy. Its height-adjustable base allows for flexibility, and the statically balanced design removes the need for anti-skating adjustment, making setup straightforward.

DJ FEATURES AND SPEED CONTROL ON THE RELOOP RP-7

The Reloop RP-7 offers pitch adjustment ranges of ±8%, ±16%, and ±35%. A reset button allows the platter speed to be returned instantly to standard. The turntable supports 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM speeds, providing versatility across different record types. For practical use in dark settings, a detachable aluminium LED needle light is included, and a strobe indicator allows monitoring of platter speed.

CONNECTIVITY AND CONSTRUCTION OF THE RELOOP RP-7

Connectivity on the Reloop RP-7 is designed for ease of integration into professional and home setups. A recessed connection panel keeps cabling flush and protected, while outputs are switchable between phono and line. Gold-plated connectors are included for signal integrity. The chassis is built for durability, with a deep black metallic finish completing the design.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Reloop RP-7 is supplied with a platter, vinyl puck, slipmat, slip sheet, LED needle light, counterweight, RCA cable with grounding, mains cable, and an instruction manual. A headshell and cartridge are not included. Dimensions are 350 mm wide, 270 mm deep, and 139 mm high, with a total weight of 5.7 kg. Technical details include an 8-pole, 3-phase motor, an electronic brake system, wow and flutter of less than 0.15%, and a signal-to-noise ratio above 75 dB.

RELOOP RP-7 PRICING AND AVAILABILITY

The Reloop RP-7 Professional 7” Turntable System, distributed in the UK by Henley Audio, is available now. Suggested retail pricing is €549 / $599 / £499.
