THE GOLD NOTE FOUNDATION FOR ART IS A COLLECTIVE VISION FROM INDIVIDUAL ENDEAVOUR

As lovers and collectors of art, we were intrigued to find out about the Gold Note Foundation For Art, or Fondazione Gold Note Per L’Arte in Italian. Known for their striking high-end, Italian HiFi, the brand is also deeply connected to Italian art.

The Gold Note Foundation For Art emerged from the personal collection of Gold Note’s founder Maurizio Aterini, evolving into a collective endeavour focused on an inclusive, autonomous artistic landscape, one that deliberately steers clear of the mainstream art market’s business-led approach. The foundation emphasises relationships, openness and vitality over the exclusivity found in commercial circuits.

GOLD NOTE FOUNDATION FOR ART’S MANIFESTO

In its manifesto, the Gold Note Foundation For Art clearly positions itself against the financialisation of art, where works become investment vehicles and artists are promoted as brands. It champions patronage instead of speculation, accessibility rather than exclusivity, and sustainability in lieu of the heavy environmental impact tied to global art fairs, auctions and transport.

THE FOUNDATION, A SPACE TO DE-MUSEUMIZE ART

The foundation’s space aims to ‘de-museumize’ the relationship with artworks, fostering an environment that feels alive and permeable. It moves away from the formal, often distant experience of traditional museums to support a more open and immediate engagement with art. Designed by architect Stefano Bonifazi, the foundation’s space is the opposite of a traditional museum: an accessible environment where bar, pool, and art coexist in an informal, fluid, and immersive atmosphere.

The collection showcases works by several artists, including;

STEFANO MARIOTTI

A visionary and refined painter, is capable of constructing symbolic spaces where light and form confront each other in a visual rhythm that resonates like a musical composition.

CARLO CANTINI

He immersed himself in artistic circles, photographing figures such as Burri, Ceroli, Bagnoli, Salvadori, Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein and Pistoletto. He has published books on past and contemporary arts and exhibited widely; his works are held in museums and private collections.

FRANCO SANTINI

Born in Borgo San Lorenzo in 1948, Franco Santini held his first solo show at age 25 at the Centro Versiliese delle Arti. After various exhibitions and winning the “young artist” category of the Viareggio National Prize, he embraced plein air landscape painting. In 2008 he adopted a striking colour-based expressive style. In 2009 he co-founded “Gruppo A” with Stefano Mariotti, drafting its manifesto and staging the “Nascita del Gruppo A” exhibition in Florence in 2011. His work appears in the volumes 53 and 54 of the Catalogo dell’Arte Moderna published by Giorgio Mondadori.
