MUSICAL FIDELITY B1XI INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER NOW AVAILABLE IN THE UK
Henley Audio has confirmed the UK availability of the Musical Fidelity B1xi integrated amplifier, the first product in the brand’s new B Series range.
Initially previewed at the Bristol HiFi Show 2025, the Musical Fidelity B1xi has since undergone minor refinements and is now being shipped to authorised UK dealers as the final production model.
MUSICAL FIDELITY B1XI INTEGRATED AMPLIFIER
The Musical Fidelity B1xi integrated amplifier builds on design principles established by the original B1 amplifier from the 1990s. It features a fully discrete transistor-based Class A/B output stage, delivering 60 watts into 8 ohms (100W into 4 ohms and 140W peak at 2 ohms), aimed at offering broad speaker compatibility and consistent power delivery.
EXTENSIVE INPUT OPTIONS
The B1xi offers a wide selection of connectivity options to suit both traditional and digital sources. These include three line-level RCA inputs, a dedicated moving magnet (MM) phono stage, HDMI ARC, optical and coaxial digital inputs (up to 24-bit/192kHz), Bluetooth 5.1, and a front-mounted mini-jack input. A USB-C power output is also included to support external streaming devices.
NO BUILT-IN STREAMING BY DESIGN
The Musical Fidelity B1xi integrated amplifier does not include Wi-Fi or integrated streaming. This is an intentional design choice to avoid potential obsolescence and to maintain long-term reliability. Users are encouraged to pair the amplifier with their preferred external streamer, allowing for greater flexibility and upgrade potential over time.
PHONO STAGE AND HEADPHONE LISTENING
The Musical Fidelity B1xi Integrated Amplifier includes a high-gain, low-noise MM phono stage, tailored for vinyl playback. A headphone output is available on the front panel for personal listening. There is also a variable RCA output, enabling connection to a subwoofer or external power amplifier as needed.
SEPARATED CIRCUIT DESIGN FOR REDUCED NOISE
Internally, the Musical Fidelity B1xi integrated amplifier is arranged with isolated digital circuitry on dedicated PCBs, each with its own linear power supply. This layout is designed to reduce electrical interference and improve overall sound performance. Volume is controlled via a motorised analogue potentiometer, and the pre- and power amplifier sections are electrically separated to help maintain low noise and clear channel separation.
The B1xi is housed in a black, all-metal chassis with an aluminium front panel and machined metal controls. Components have been selected with longevity and performance in mind, aiming to deliver a user-friendly experience in a compact form factor.
