UNITRA ANNOUNCES THEIR INTENTION TO SAVE FELLOW POLISH HiFi BRAND DIORA
Unitra, the Polish HiFi brand, has announced that they are hoping to save the future of fellow Polish HiFi brand, Diora Acoustics, known for their OEM manufacturing of loudspeaker cabinets, and in more recent times, their own loudspeaker ranges.
Diora, a company with an 80-year tradition, filed for bankruptcy in June. Shortly after, 115 employees of the company received notices of termination.
Unitra has recently secured UK distribution, as did Diora, earlier this year. The situation is evolving and we have recently received the information below from Unitra.
The following is a statement sent out by Daniel Kostrzewa, CEO of Unitra.
UNITRA AND DIORA
Acting with a sense of mission to save the Polish electronics industry, Unitra officially began talks with the Diora Bankruptcy Trustee. Our goal is to protect what can still be saved: jobs, production facilities and the heritage of one of the most important brands in the history of Polish electronics.
Despite this, the situation is difficult, we do not give up . We declare our readiness to engage, both financially and operationally, to save Polish technological potential and competences, which should not disappear just because of a lack of good will on the part of public institutions .
Diora is not just a brand – it is a piece of history and thousands of hours of work by Polish craftsmen, engineers and technicians. We will do everything to ensure that this is not a story that ends in the tone of an obituary.
For Unitra, the commitment to saving Diora is not only a business decision, but also a step resulting from the social mission and a sense of responsibility for the domestic industry . The company believes that thanks to its experience, technological and market background, it is possible not only to bring Diora back to life, but also to give it a new meaning in the modern audio market.
We simply cannot remain indifferent to this situation.

HiFi PiG Says: We have been really impressed with Diora’s loudspeakers and hope that Unitra can take on the brand and make them profitable again.
