FRANCO SERBLIN HISTORY
The late Franco Serblin founded Sonus Faber in the early 1980s, at a time when most speakers had the appearance of boxes. He brought the craftsmanship of a fine Italian furniture or musical instrument maker to the industry pioneering design signatures including curved cabinet walls, utilising the finest materials such as exotic wood and Italian leather.
SONUS FABER
Serblin sold Sonus faber in 2006 and began creating speakers under his own name starting with the Ktêma, which entered production in 2010, followed by the Accordo. He sadly passed away in 2013 but the brand that bears his name and is now under the stewardship of his son-in-law; continues his legacy with a collection of speakers that includes his final designs.
RARE NEW RELEASES
He left many drawings of concepts yet to be brought into existence at the time of his death; these are the source of inspiration for occasional new models that are developed with faithfulness to the spirit, philosophy and craftsmanship of the man himself.
FRANCO SERBLIN ACCORDO GOLDBERG
The new Accordo Goldberg is one such design. It takes its name from Bach’s Goldberg Variations and its design inspiration from the Accordo standmount speaker, enlarging its form and incorporating a 29mm silk dome tweeter by Ragnar Lian and a 180mm mid/bass driver with a microsphere cone and aluminium dust cap. The speaker’s solid walnut cabinet is inspired by the design of fine stringed instruments, its asymmetric shape and aluminium-magnesium decouplers designed to eradicate the effects of internal standing waves and cabinet resonance.

Handmade in Italy the Franco Serblin Accordo Goldberg features signature Serblin touches such as the etched chrome and ‘string’ grille.
