THE SHAKNSPIN2 TURNTABLE ANALYSER NOW FEATURES AN IR-TRANSCEIVER FOR SELF CALIBRATION

The new Shaknspin2 features a new IR-self calibration method which the manufacturer claims “guarantees absolutely accurate speed readings every time”.

The Shaknspin2 uses a 9 degrees-of-freedom sensor to accurately measure the rotational speed of your turntable platter 500 times per second. It is the newest version of the Portuguese turntable analyser which was released last year.

IR TRANSCEIVER

This new Version 2 adds an IR-transceiver for accurate self-calibration at the start of every measuring session, The Speed option allows the platter speed to be instantly displayed allowing you to confirm that all is well with your turntable.

WOW AND FLUTTER

However, Wow and Flutter analysis is the main focus of the Shaknspin2. Following an 8 second measuring period, the following indicators are calculated and displayed, you will need to set up the companion phone app to see all of the indicators.

ANALYSIS

This valuable information, allows you to see the characteristics of the platter rotation in terms of speed stability and gives clues to where any issues might be. A graphical representation of the speed variation, flutter component and calculated average is immediately available, plus a spectrogram of the modulating frequencies and an histogram for the speed variation.

At the end of each measuring session, you can optionally choose to download the collected data into your smartphone, for additional analysis and archiving. The built-in Bluetooth connection allows this quick and easy transfer of data, and the common CSV file format generated by the Android and iOS apps, allows the data to be easily read.
