AAVIK 280 AND AAVIK 580 CONTROL AND POWER AMPLIFIERS ANNOUNCED

High-end Danish HiFi brand Aavik has launched the new Aavik 280 and Aavik 580 series of separate Control and Power amplifiers.

Aavik new standalone Aavik 280 and Aavik 580 series are equipped with noise suppressing technologies that lower the noise floor to, they say, “unprecedented levels”.

FLAGSHIP AAVIK 580 SERIES

The Aavik C-580 and Aavik P-580 are the brand’s flagships. The Aavik 580 series of separates have a solid copper inner chassis and feature additional noise reduction control and the installation of switchless, optical LDR-based components.

AAVIK C-580 AMPLIFIER

The Aavik c-580 features an LDR (Light-dependent resistor) based Switchless Optical Input board and a separate power supply.

It also has the new Aavik analogue crossover which has been designed to either very precisely control a subwoofer or, with the integrated low pass and high pass filter, to control a 2.1 home theatre system. Aavik’s new analogue crossover can also function as an analogue room correction control to avoid ‘room boom’.

Since the crossover is analogue, Aavik says there is no latency in the timing of the signal transfer to both the speakers and the subwoofer. By using the low pass and high pass filter, the sound performance of your individual speakers can be optimized.

AAVIK P-580 AMPLIFIER

The AAVIK P-580 is an Aavik UMAC™ amplifier (Unmatched Audio Control). Aavik says: “This technology was developed to avoid the design flaws of traditional switching amplifiers. UMAC technology primarily targets two areas of modulated amplifier design. Firstly, the PWM (pulse-width modulation) generation is produced with sine wave modulation rather than the more common triangle modulation. The benefit is that sine waves create far less high frequency noise than triangles, no sharp corners, and thus require far less inductive filtering at the output. The lower inductance in the output gives the amplifiers a much better damping factor and thus a distinctly better speaker control. Secondly, the advanced dual mixed mode feedback allows damping factors that are characteristic of only the very best linear amplifiers”.
