Lumio Aura 5 Makes A First HiFi System Simple
A first proper stereo system can seem complicated when speakers, amplifiers and cables all need to be chosen separately. Lumio’s Aura 5 puts the amplifier inside a pair of bookshelf speakers, so a phone, computer, television or music player can become the source without another large box.
The Indian audio brand has aimed the Aura 5 at listeners who want genuine left-and-right stereo sound in a bedroom, study or smaller living room. Its wide choice of wired and wireless connections also gives newcomers room to try different sources later.

A Complete Stereo System In Two Boxes
Active speakers contain their own amplification. That means the Aura 5 does not need a separate integrated amplifier or receiver: one speaker contains the electronics and connects to the second speaker to produce a proper stereo pair.
Lumio quotes a peak output of 200W for the system. Peak power describes short bursts rather than the amount used continuously, so it should not be treated as a direct guide to sound quality. More useful for a newcomer is the simple layout: connect a source, set the speakers on either side of the listening position and adjust the level.
Drivers And Claimed Bass
Each cabinet combines a 4.5-inch aluminium-cone woofer with a 1-inch silk-dome tweeter. The woofer handles bass and most of the midrange, while the tweeter covers higher sounds such as cymbals and the fine detail in voices.
Lumio says the Aura 5 can reach down to 35Hz under its stated test conditions. That is a manufacturer claim rather than a guarantee in every room, but it suggests the speakers are intended to work without a separate subwoofer in a compact setup.
Connections For TVs Computers And Phones
HDMI ARC allows a compatible television to send sound to the speakers through an HDMI cable, with CEC support allowing the television remote to control volume. Optical and coaxial inputs cover other digital equipment, while RCA accepts an analogue source.
USB supports digital audio from a computer, including FLAC files up to 24-bit/48kHz. Bluetooth 5.4 is available for quick wireless listening from a phone or tablet. A wired connection is normally the safer choice when the best possible stability or lip-sync is important.
Listening Modes And Controls
Studio, Cinema and Groove sound modes provide quick alternatives for music, films and a more energetic presentation. Separate bass and treble controls let the listener make smaller changes instead of relying only on presets.
The supplied OLED remote, called Minion, shows useful information on its small screen. Physical controls remain on the speakers, so the system does not depend entirely on an app.

The Lumio Aura 5 is priced at ₹24,999 in India, with an introductory price of ₹19,999. Sales are due to begin on 15 October through Lumio and Amazon India. Availability and pricing outside India have not been announced.
