Vulkkano Desk Brings USB Audio To A Compact Starter System
Vulkkano has introduced Desk, a compact pair of powered speakers priced at €89.99. They connect directly to a computer over USB, receive music from a phone over Bluetooth and include HDMI ARC for a compatible television.
For a first bedroom or desktop system, the useful part is how much comes together: amplification, a remote control and angled speaker supports are included. You still need a music source and mains power, but there is no separate amplifier to choose.

Quick Reference
- Product: Vulkkano Desk powered stereo speakers, in black or white.
- Price: €89.99 for the pair, including tax on the manufacturer website.
- Connections: USB-C, HDMI ARC, 3.5mm AUX and Bluetooth 5.3; subwoofer output.
- Availability: Preorders are open, with shipping scheduled from 26 October.

Small Speakers With Their Own Amplifier
Each cabinet measures 10cm wide, 15cm deep and 16.5cm tall. Vulkkano rates the system at 50W RMS and supplies tilted supports to aim the speakers towards the listener rather than straight across the desk.
The two speakers connect using an included cable. A USB-C to USB-A cable, an analogue audio cable and the mains lead also come in the box. That makes it worth checking your computer sockets before ordering: a computer with only USB-C sockets may need a different cable.
Connections For A Computer Or TV
USB provides a wired route from a computer, while Bluetooth offers a quick way to play from a phone. The AUX input accepts analogue audio from a compatible source. HDMI ARC adds a TV option without needing a separate soundbar.
Built-in sound processing offers Music, Movie and Dialogue presets. A separate subwoofer can be added through the SUB OUT socket later, but it is not required to use the speakers.

Price And Availability
Vulkkano lists free delivery across the European Union. Its current product page describes the Desk as a preorder, so the announced price should not be confused with immediate dispatch.
What The Terms Mean
Powered Speakers: Speakers with amplification built into the system, removing the need for a separate amplifier.
USB Audio: Music sent digitally from a computer through a USB connection.
HDMI ARC: Audio Return Channel, which lets a compatible TV send sound back through an HDMI cable.
RMS Power: A continuous power rating. It is not a direct measurement of how good a speaker sounds.
