Panasonic SC-PMX112 And SC-PM302 Make Complete HiFi Easier

A separate amplifier, speakers and music player can make a flexible system, but not everyone wants to choose every box individually. Panasonic’s new SC-PMX112 and SC-PM302 micro systems put the electronics, speakers and remote control together as complete packages.

Both systems play CDs, receive DAB+ and FM radio and stream from a phone over Bluetooth. The £119.99 SC-PM302 keeps things simple and affordable, while the £269.99 SC-PMX112 adds more power, Wi-Fi, Spotify Connect and internet radio.

Quick Reference

  • SC-PM302: 60-watt micro system with CD, Bluetooth 6.0, DAB+, FM, USB and a 2.4-inch colour display.
  • SC-PMX112: 180-watt micro system with CD, Bluetooth 6.0, DAB+, FM, USB, Wi-Fi, Spotify Connect, internet radio and a 2.8-inch colour display.
  • Both systems include separate wooden speaker cabinets and a remote control.
  • Prices: £119.99 for the SC-PM302 and £269.99 for the SC-PMX112.
  • Availability: Panasonic’s UK store says stock is expected on 19 October 2026.

Two Systems At Two Prices

The SC-PM302 is the more basic option. Panasonic gives it 60 watts of total output and compact full-range speakers. Five EQ presets let you adjust the balance for different music or listening situations, while clock, alarm and sleep functions make it useful in a bedroom or small living space.

The SC-PMX112 raises the claimed output to 180 watts and uses a larger two-way speaker arrangement. It is the better fit if you want more volume, stronger bass and extra streaming options without moving to separate HiFi components.

CD And Radio Are Still Here

Both models include a CD player, which is useful if you are starting a collection from charity shops, family shelves or new releases. USB playback gives you another way to use music files without relying on a phone.

DAB+ provides digital radio where the service is available, while FM keeps access to traditional broadcasts. The colour display shows the selected source and other information, and the supplied remote means the system does not have to be controlled from an app.

What The SC-PMX112 Adds

The SC-PMX112 connects to Wi-Fi and supports Spotify Connect. Instead of sending audio from a phone over Bluetooth, Spotify Connect tells the system to play directly from the service. Your phone becomes the controller, so notifications and other phone sounds do not interrupt the music.

Internet radio adds stations from around the world, provided the system has an internet connection. The larger 2.8-inch display should also make browsing sources and settings easier from across the room.

Why A Micro System Can Be A Smart Start

The main advantage is that the parts are already matched. You do not need to check whether an amplifier can drive the speakers, and you do not need to budget for several boxes and a separate remote. Set up the two speakers, connect them to the main unit and choose what to play.

The trade-off is upgrade freedom. A system made from separate components is easier to improve one part at a time. These Panasonic packages make more sense for someone who values simplicity, compact size and a known total price.

Price And Availability

The Panasonic SC-PM302 costs £119.99 and the SC-PMX112 costs £269.99 through Panasonic’s official UK store. Both pages list stock as expected on 19 October 2026. Availability and prices may differ outside the UK.

What The Terms Mean

Micro system: a compact music system that combines several sources and amplification in one main unit, usually with matching speakers.

DAB+: a digital radio broadcasting system used in the UK and several other countries.

Spotify Connect: a system that lets compatible equipment stream directly from Spotify while your phone or tablet acts as the controller.

Two-way speaker: a speaker that divides sound between two driver types, normally one for bass and midrange and another for treble.
