Audio-Technica Launches ATH-M20xSTS Streaming Headset
Audio-Technica has added the ATH-M20xSTS to its StreamSet range. The wired headset combines headphones and a boom microphone in one unit for streaming, gaming and creating content.
It is based on Audio-Technica’s ATH-M20x monitor headphones and uses 40mm drivers. Audio-Technica says these produce a balanced sound that helps users hear details when gaming, recording or monitoring a stream.

Headphones and microphone together
The built-in AT20 microphone is designed to capture the user’s voice while reducing surrounding noise. It sits on a flexible boom arm that keeps it close to the mouth, even when the wearer moves their head.
Lifting the microphone arm automatically mutes it. This means users can switch off their microphone quickly without searching for a button or opening any software.
The ATH-M20xSTS weighs around 230g and uses breathable mesh earpads, which should help during longer gaming or streaming sessions. Its elliptical earcups are designed to reduce outside noise.
What do you need to use it?
The detachable cable ends in a four-pole 3.5mm plug that carries both headphone and microphone audio. This can connect directly to compatible consoles and other devices.
USB-A and USB-C adapters are also included for connecting the headset to computers and mobile devices. Audio-Technica describes it as plug-and-play, so a separate microphone or audio interface is not required.
